Good morning everyone. Welcome to Wacky Kiki's Frothy Friday edition at the Freebie
Caf?, and a very warm welcome to new subscribers.

Kiki’s still out of commission. Packing, getting ready for the big move, trying to fix her
computer, looking for a better one. Good luck!!! I certainly don’t envy her. I’ve moved
twice in my lifetime, been there, done that, don’t want to do it again.

Today, it’s going to be short and sweet. I’m in the process of improving the webpage. A
feat in itself as it’s a learning experience for me. This old dog is still learning new tricks (ha ha).

Join My Choice and see what our government wants to ban. In Ottawa, for example, the
local council is considering a ban on the wearing of all scented products - colognes,
perfumes, scented soaps and deodorants and lotions – in public. Although this site originally
fought for smoker’s rights (don’t knock it), it is fighting to maintain our freedom of choice.
The ban on smoking has opened a Pandora’s Box whereby they are now ruling against
obesity. What next?

A crumb topping distinguishes French apple pie from other traditional pies. Frozen peaches and readymade pie dough make this an easy winner.

1 cup Sun-Maid Natural Raisins
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons plus 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, divided
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 cups (4 to 8 medium) peeled, chopped tart apples or peaches
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 9-inch unbaked pie dough round or shell
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup butter or margarine

COMBINE raisins, sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, cinnamon, and salt. Mix with apples and
lemon juice. If using pie dough, fit into 9-inch pan according to package directions.

POUR fruit into pie shell.

COMBINE remaining 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar and butter just until mixture resembles
coarse crumbs. Sprinkle crumbs evenly over raisin-apple mixture.

BAKE on lowest oven rack at 425 F for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 F and
bake an additional 45 to 55 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or cold.

Makes 8 servings. Variation: Apple Crumble

Prepare ingredients as for French Raisin Apple Pie, omitting the pie shell. Place fruit in a
9-inch pie pan or an 8 to 9 inch round or square pan. Bake on lowest oven rack at 425 F
for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 F and bake an additional 45 to 55 minutes.
Serve warm or cold.

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting
on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.

Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote "The Hokey Pokey" died peacefully at the age of 93.

The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg
in..., and then the trouble started.

Little Bruce and Jenny ....................

Little Bruce and Jenny are only 10 years old, but they just know that they are in love.

One day they decide that they want to get married, so BRUCE goes to Jenny's father to
ask him for her hand.

BRUCE bravely walks up to him and says "Mr. Smith, me and Jenny are in love and I want
to ask you for her hand in marriage."

Thinking that this was just the cutest thing, Mr. Smith replies, "Well, BRUCE, you are only
10, where will you two live?"

Without even taking a moment to think about it, BRUCE replies "In Jenny's room. It's
bigger than mine and we can both fit there nicely."

Still thinking this is just adorable, Mr. Smith says with a huge grin, "Okay then how will you
live? You're not old enough to get a job. You'll need to support Jenny."

Again, BRUCE! instantly replies, "Our allowance.. Jenny makes 5 bucks a week and I
make 10 bucks a week. That's about 60 bucks a month and that should do us just fine."

By this time Mr. Smith is a little shocked that BRUCE has put so much thought into this.
He thinks for a moment trying to come up with something that BRUCE won't have an
answer to. After a second, Mr. Smith says, "Well, BRUCE, it seems like you have got
everything all figured out. I just have one more question for you. What will you do if the two
of you should have little ones of your own?"

BRUCE just shrugs his shoulders and says, "Well, we've been lucky So far..."

Mr. Smith doesn't think the little shit is adorable anymore.
