A Big Warm Welcome To All New Subscribers!?

Good Morning!?  Well my cable still is not fixed. They were working on it yesterday but they never called to say they were done or not. Only way I knew they were working on it was because the tv kept going off and on during my soap of all things! GRRR! Ya don't mess with my soap " One Life To Live "?  So by this week they may have it fixed.? ( Rolling eyes here. )

Just so everyone knows I will be doing my newsletter only twice a week now. I'm trying to stop and smell the rose for once. I spend so much time on my pc that other things are going to pot here. I'm trying to wean myself off this thing?  .....LOL?  I confess, I'm a pc junkie. ( hanging my head with shame )?  LOL?  So for now I will send out the letter on Wed. and Fri.?  I need to spend more time with my daughter who is growing?  up too fast and going through changes and she needs me. I also need some ME time which I never seem to really have anymore because I belong to soooo many groups.?

Old Fashioned Chicken and Rice Soup

1/4 c Butter
1 Onion; chopped
1 Carrot; diced
1 Celery stalk; diced
1/2 lb Raw chicken; diced
1/3 c Flour
3 c Chicken stock
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 ts Pepper
2 c Milk
1 1/2 c Cooked rice


In a lg. saucepan, melt butter. Add onion, carrot, and celery. Cook
gently 5 mins. until vegetables are fragrant and tender. Add chicken.
Cook 2 to 3 mins. until chicken loses its raw appearance. Sprinkle
with flour. Cook 3 to 4 min., browning lightly. Add chicken stock and
bring to a boil. Season with salt and pepper. Cook 15 mins. Add milk
and bring to a boil. Add rice and cook 5 to 10 mins. longer (if soup
is too thick, add a bit more milk; if too thin, cook uncovered for 5
to 10 min. to reduce it). Taste and adjust seasonings.

Keep Ice Cream Fresh, Longer.
Before closing container, push plastic wrap down on top of the remaining ice cream. This isolates the cream from air which causes the gumming and ice crystals.
