Hi Folks! How is everyone doing? I'm doing pretty good for a 42?  year old Birthday girl. LOL Yep! It's my?  B-Day and it's going really nice. My daughter bought me a pretty heart ? necklace saying MOM and has diamonds in it. Her dad helped pay for it of course. She also got me a snickers bar...Smart girl I have. Give the momma chocolate and I'm your best friend.?  LOL?  Hubby took me out for breakfast and when I stopped at the store? I found my favorite wine on sale. And it was the large bottle too!?  Yippy.

Sorry for no letter on Friday but the publisher was still having problems and I didn't want to send you a letter if you couldn't click the links.?  I also had a friend go into heart failure and almost died that day. I was so upset and making calls to others so I wasn't up to doing a letter at all. She's better now and at home. But I'm still worried about her. Sooooo I sure hope all is good for todays letter.

Black-eyed Peas With Ham

3 1/2 c Fresh black-eyed peas or Frozen, thawed
3 c Chicken stock or canned low-salt broth
4 oz Ham, finely chopped
1 sm Yellow onion, chopped
2 tb Balsamic vinegar or red wine vinegar
3 lg Garlic cloves, minced
1 Bay leaf
1/2 ts Dried thyme, crumbled
1/4 ts Dried crushed red pepper
Bring all ingredients to boil in heavy large saucepan. Reduce heat and
simmer until peas are tender, stirring occasionally, about 45 minutes.
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Yield: 6 servings
