what terrible things happen to innocent people. So often we wonder why God
doesn't stop it. We know He has the power to, so why does He let it go on? We
have to realize that God hates all the death and darkness in the world. We know
that He is a God of light, goodness, and love. God, so often, uses people to
bring Him glory. If the people in the world who have God's spirit inside of
them would share it with others there will be more light, goodness, and love in
the world. As Christians we are blessed to have God's spirit inside of us.
Let's not keep that to ourselves! Amazing things can happen when one person
stands up for what is good and true, and when a group of us stand up...who
knows how the world could change! Don't hide the light you have inside from a
world that is in such desperate need of it.

It's easy to get bitten with the "good girl" bug.  We often get stuck trying to
please people, instead of seeking out God's will and pleasing Him.  We often
get stuck on making everyone else happy, or on making ourselves happy. We all
tend to struggle with one tendency or the other, or both, at times.

Making everyone else the focus?  Won't say "no" or make decisions according to
God's leading?  Do your "good works" actually come from the heart, or by the
feeling of demand from others?

I recently subscribed to a new (to me) service at http://
www.thisdaysthought.org . Each day I m emailed a quote, verse for the day, etc.
I was really encouraged by yesterday s verse:

The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight
in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing
(Zephaniah 3:17 NIV).

I don t know about you, but right now, today, at this very moment, I need to be
quieted by God s love. The picture that comes to my mind is one of a mother
embracing her child who is afraid or hurting in some way. As the mother holds

I laid in bed with Chase tonight, I was talking to him about our fruit.  I told
him about good fruit...love, patience, kindness, gentleness, the traits that we
want others to see in us.  And then we talked about bad
fruit...hatred,meanness, anger, being impatient, being rough.  And then I said,

How much you grow in Christ affects how your friendships pan out.  Galations
5:19-21 lists a few common "in the flesh" vices that can disrupt our
friendships, e.g., strife, jealousy, angry outbursts.

Have these "deeds of the flesh" created havoc in your life, coming from you or
your friends?  Surely all of us have been guilty of acting in these hurtful
ways at some point in our lives, and surely we've all been hurt by others doing
the same to us.

It's important to forgive those friends who have hurt you.  It's also very

normal. :) A lot of times we take how we view our own dads and reflect that on
our Heavenly Father. That is not a good thing. Our dads have made mistakes, and
they are far from perfect. You may have a wonderful relationship with your dad,
or like many others you may have a difficult one. Either way, our God is a
Father of love, compassion, and mercy. He IS perfect. Don't let your earthly
father hinder the relationship you have with your heavenly one. Heavenly Father
will never abandon us, forsake us, or make us feel like we are not good enough.
He will, however, love us for who we are, forgive us, embrace us, welcome us,
and hold us in His arms when we need Him. Be encouraged, for your Father in
Heaven is a Dad like no other!
