To my Eros & Rust subscribers : Just a couple of announcements that I hope you won't mind my sending you. Believe me, you won't hear from me again with letters like one. It's my last supplement to you from Eros : 1) I am no longer the owner & editor of Eros & Rust. I gave it up because I haven't been well lately and want more time for writing my own work - my novels and short stories in particular. Having a heart seizure definitely tells you that you need to get your priorities in order and writing has alwyas been my first priority - I just forgot that, I was having so much fun doing all the other stuff! If you were a subscriber to Eros, you'll still be getting your monthly issue, however, as my super assistant editor,. Susan Snively, took it over. Any questions, comments, new subscribers or unsubs, please send them to sueateros@yahoo.ca. BTW, Sue's raised the prize money on the contest to $20 and the pay for stories or poems published to $20. I'm sure she's going to make Eros a better ezine in other ways, too, so stick around for a bit before you decide to unsub. 2) I'm teaching 3 classes over this month and next - here are the URLs where you can sign up for one, if you've a mind too : Writing Horror -- 8 weeks beginning Nov. 1st - www.kenyonslabyrinth.bravehost.com OR drop me an email and I'll send the first lesson out ASAP along with an address where to send the tuition. (Oh and BTW, the book of short horror stories that resulted from that class' students last year is now available through www.magellanbooks.com. The title is Adumbra, check it out, if you've mind to see what the class did with the things they learned in the class.) Making A Novel -- 8 weeks beginning Nov. 1st - This is not only my favorite class to teach it seems to be, after the Horror class, the student's favorite to take. This is a basic writing class but only for the serious student who wants to be a better writer, covering all the writer's tools and a philosophy of writing, and being a writer, that's essentially new as far as I can tell from other, similar, classes on the Web. I'm teaching this through Nicky Allard's Writer's Success site and the URL for signup is : - http://writerssuccess.netfirms.com/makinganovelcourse.htm The Writer's Journal-- 6 weeks - The Writer's Journal (or Notebook or Seedbed or Idea Catcher - whatever you ish to cal it) is an importnat part of writing and of being a writer - I'm so excited about this one, too, because it was a hard sell to my great buddy and benign boss, Rob Parnell, who didn't think anyone would go for it. Well, the class is almost full and the promo only went out a few days ago so I guess Rob can relax now. :-)) Writing is itself an act of self-discovery and using a journal to complement your work can only help you, not only on that voyage to discovering your Self, but in enlighteing your work and making it shine with your own originality, authencity and truest Self. The URL for this class is : http://www.clickbank.net/sell.cgi?navin2/15/Journal_Adventure or at Rob Parnell's site itself, http://easywaytowrite.com/journal_writing.html Hope to see some new faces there and some of my old friends from this forum there as well .... Cheers and Regards, Kenyon Official website - KENYON'S LABYRINTH - www.kenyonslabyrinth.bravehost.com. Past Editor of Eros & Rust, original fiction and everything else the kitchen sink can hold in a newsletter/ezine by writers for writers! Thanks to Sue, I still have my grubby little fingers involved in the monthly issues for a while yet, though ... :- ) Author of Blood Kiss, Cri du Coeur & 8 City Tales : Darkness Visible containing the Higby nominated City Terminus. The Winter Mirror is available now in the anthology of short horror stories Adumbra from www.magellanbooks.com Other short fiction work may be found in the following print magazines, Vampire??™s Crypt, Writer??™s Journal & Spectre Magazine and in the ezine, Anotherealm. All books are available through www.digitalbooksetc.com and my own site - KENYON'S LABYRINTH - www.kenyonslabyrinth.bravehost.com. All other sites selling my work are pirate sites and I ask that you not buy from them.
