ANNOUNCEMENT : April 2, 2007 - Well, it's been a year and 2 months since I
dropped out of sight to have another operation on my back. That one became 4 -
3 of them in April, 2006 alone and all 3 during a 2 and 1/2 week period. My
doctor says I don't react well to surgery, so although I now need another one,
it's a no-go. We finally made the move to Louisiana - New Orleans - at last,
last October. Chuck took off from where he left off with Harahan PD - patrol
officer and SWAT team operator, but he just got his God Badge and is now in the
Detective Bureau, mainly assigned to the Sex Crimes unit. A lot of material
there, sad as it is, for novels and stories. Jazz Fest is coming up and I
LOVE Jazz Fest (though not as much as Mardi Gras!) and if my new pain doctor
ever gets me evened out, I'll be able to go to Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras and all
the special things that one can only go to in New Orleans. But I am ready,
even now, to resume work teaching and writing. I'm RARIN' to go actually - to
begin again with Eros & Rust (Redux), to finish the Making A Novel book and to
begin writing fiction again.

Hello everyone,

Just a short email to let everyone know that I am retiring Eros & Rust for
good. Due to health problems, family and work responsibilities, and for the
sake of my own writing, I have decided to lay Eros to rest. My first novel is
languishing unfinished on my hard drive, longing for my attention. I NEED to
finish this novel for it is the culmination of a life-long dream, a dream
that's getting old and must be realized.

I apologize to all my loyal readers and supporters. I enjoyed immensely
working with and knowing all of you. I've made some wonderful e-friends and
would like to keep in touch with many of you.

Eros has already lived much longer than it was meant to, and I tried
desperately to keep it alive for Kenyon's sake. But I know that Kenyon
To my Eros & Rust subscribers :

Just a couple of announcements that I hope you won't mind my sending you.
Believe me, you won't hear from me again with letters like one. It's my last
supplement to you from Eros :

1) I am no longer the owner & editor of Eros & Rust. I gave it up because I
haven't been well lately and want more time for writing my own work - my novels
and short stories in particular. Having a heart seizure definitely tells you
that you need to get your priorities in order and writing has alwyas been my
first priority - I just forgot that, I was having so much fun doing all the
other stuff! If you were a subscriber to Eros, you'll still be getting your
monthly issue, however, as my super assistant editor,. Susan Snively, took it
over. Any questions, comments, new subscribers or unsubs, please send them to

Hello, all my dear subscribers!

I've received over 230 letters since announcing that Eros would be closing down
after next month's issue. It seems that in 4 months, Eros has gleaned not only
the praise of people like BeWrite publisher Neil Marr and writers like Jeff
Strand and Geoff Nelder, but the affection of you, the subscribers, to an
extent that I had not realized until now.

Fortunately, your moral support and the hands-on support of Susan Snively, who
volunteered to take over the more time consuming aspects of producing Eros &
Rust will keep Eros in production. That's right, she's not a dead letter!!
She's alive and she's going to stay that way. Sue is the author of Clarice in
last month's contest winner section and she's familiar to many of you from the
EWTW forum. With her as assistant editor, Eros is going to be more
organized than ever!
Thanks for requesting this month's copy of Eros Rust. If you like it (and I
hope you LOVE it, of course!) you don't have to do anything else to keep
getting it each month. It goes out on the 15th or 16th of each month. If you
have a story to submit for consideration for the Original Fiction section just
send it in. Same goes for articles on writing or the writing life. We are a
paying market for fiction and poetry but not yet for articles. We pay $5 at the
moment for fiction and poetry, but that should increase as we get sponsers. We
also have contests each month, no entry fee, but there is a prize of $10.

If you don't wish to continue getting the newsletter/ezine, just drop a note
and I'll take you off the mailing list.

Enjoy Eros -

Cheers and Regards,
