~ Wait on Jesus ~
by Charlotte Hyatt
I have a family cruise coming up and my baby sister paid
for my flight to Miami and the cruise. I had prayed about
new clothes ... not because I don't have clothes but because
the last new clothes I had was 2 1/2 years ago and was a
gift. It has been some time since I could afford to buy
anything. (Social Security Disability is almost enough for
bills, food, and medicine; but not for clothes, movies, or
cruises).
In a moment of weakness, I went to the dollar store and
bought some summer clothes. They were not expensive, they
were cheap (not inexpensive, CHEAP). I tried to justify the
expense by saying, "I need to fast, anyway. So, if there's
no food ..."
When my husband (also, disabled and on SS) and I pulled
into the parking lot, at church, one of the sisters waved at
us to pull in by her. She got out of her car and opened her
trunk saying, "If you don't want these, just give them to
Goodwill." While she talked she was pulling stuff out of her
car, putting it into ours.
When I got home and my husband brought the things in, I
realized (AGAIN) how God gives us some of our wants if we
just let go and let God!!! She had cleaned out her closet
and gave me 1, no 2, no 3 (several) outfits that she had dry
cleaned and stored in the closet. Now that summer is almost
here, she decided she no longer wanted them and gave them to
someone who is the same size.
But my God shall supply all your need according to his
riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
