Wow, what a wonderful story "Jimmy's letter to Sally"
is of how God comes in and comforts us in the worst of
times in our lives, because He knows and understands
how we feel. I so firmly believe in these kinds of
interventions, because I heard of so many of them by
mature, well balanced, solid Christians. If I may, I
would like to share one of our own personal
experiences.
Our son passed
away in 1977 at the tender age of 4 months, from what
was then called "crib death". It??™s a story of how our
Lord showed us that He understands.
Jonathan was our
first child and was a very healthy baby full of joy
and life. Then one morning, he suddenly left us. I
can't begin to tell you the trauma it caused us
because you see, we were new babies in the faith
ourselves. And the church that we went to at that
time didn't believe in miracles, and even less in
manifestations of the Lord (and we believed what the
church believed). About a week after his departure,
while our lives were still heavily troubled because we
couldn't understand why such a thing would happen to
us, that's when God intervened.
While my wife was
laying in bed one afternoon trying to make sense of it
all, she was lying on her back Looking at the white
wall in front of her when it got extremely shiny and
bright. Then she heard this indescribably soothing
voice telling her: "Don't be afraid, just trust in me.
I am here with you and I understand".
She then said that
she felt this indescribable feeling of comfort and
peace that invaded her. After she shared this with me,
the same feeling came over me and peace came into our
lives. Although we still miss him today, (God gave us
2 more awesome boys after that) I can say that since
then, we never asked God the question "why?". We knew
that Jonathan was safe in His loving hands, in spite
of what our church believed. Johanne said that she
was not sure if she was awake at that time, so she
decided to pinch herself to see if she would feel the
pain. She did and as you guessed it, she felt the pain
so she knew that this was for real, that she was not
dreaming. As to the validity of this "apparition" or
"manifestation"' the Bible tells us that we shall know
a tree by the fruits that it bears. All I can say is
that it brought us a lot of much needed comfort and
peace in our lives.
The Lord also
tells us "I shall never leave you nor forsake you",
and let me tell you that
for us, at that
moment, that phrase and promise became real for us.
Thank you so much Paulette for sharing this awesome,
encouraging uplifting testimony with us today. God is
so good. May our loving Father in heaven richly bless
you. Also thank you so much, Bob for sharing this with
us. God bless you too.
