Good Morning, Doves

The Real Story of the Stars
by
P. J.

(Genesis 1:14) "And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be signs and tokens (of God's provident care), and (to mark) seasons, days, and years."

Many years ago, in my early teens, I was very interested in astrology. It was "cool", it was the "in thing", everyone was doing it.  I was fortunate to be shown the truth after fighting a battle that lasted many years of daily reading my horoscope in newspapers.  I sensed it was wrong but I did not know why and I so sensed it to be wrong that I literally quit taking the newspaper until I broke the addiction. It wasn't until I found the truth about the God created stars that I began to realize astrology was "not cool", was a huge lie, and many people were falling for the lie.

What prompted this series was years of seeing kids and adults going around with nicknames they obviously had no clue what meant and being asked online "What sign are you?", as people would go around spreading and believing an old Babylonian art that is pagan and counterfeit.  However, there is a great truth to do with the stars and the constellations. The lack of knowledge I have found in others prompted me to do this series and I pray that it sets you and others free with knowledge of why astrology is wrong and gives you a bold new interest in the story of the stars and why God would place such a story in the heavenlies.

King David declared in Psalm 19 "The Heavens declare the glory of God;  and the firmament shows and proclaims His handiwork.  Day after day pours forth speech and night after night shows forth knowledge.  There is no speech nor spoken word (from the stars);  their voice is not heard.  Yet their voice (in evidence) goes out through all the earth, their sayings to the end of the world."

What IS the knowledge the stars pour forth night after night?  That's what we will look at together.

From the beginning of man, man has demonstrated an almost unquenchable desire to know the future.  All manner of efforts to foretell the future have been tried from fortunetelling, card reading, psychics, etc.  Perhaps the most long-standing is astrology.  Astrology is a pagan counterfeit of an original revelation given by God through the Mazzaroth - the signs of the zodiac that we see in the sky each night. Job 38:32 "Canst thou bring forth Mazarroth (meaning the constellations of the zodiac) in his season?"

Astrology has had a modern resurgence.  One of the first people to popularize modern astrology was Adolf Hitler.  He had five full-time paid astrologers on his staff helping him to run the Third Reich.  While he had some remarkable successes using astrology to move his armies, one cannot argue that he ended in disaster.  Ultimate deception always leads to disaster.

Hepatoscopy, according to some authorities, is the ancient art from which astrology arose.  It is an examination or observance of the liver of sheep.  A person brought a sheep as a sacrifice, and the sheep was slain.  The liver was taken out and examined, and it was assumed that the liver of the animal was a microcosm of the universe.  There is a clay model of a sheep dating back to the time of Hammurabi in Babylon.  The edge of the liver is divided into sixteen sections of heaven, as the Babylonians conceived at that time.  The position of the liver supposedly indicated how the gods in the outer world were going to respond to the person who brought the sheep.  The authority on Hepatoscopy points out that the Babylonian word for planet is a combination of the two Babylonian words "dead sheep."  This in itself should be a rude awakening because sheep were sacrificed in the Temple for atonement in Judaism, and Yeshua was the sacrificial lamb for atonement in Christianity.

The Bible condemns astrology very strongly.  Isaiah 47:13-14 "Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels.  Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.  Behold, they shall be as stubble;  the fire shall burn them;  they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame:  there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it."

So now let us study what the stars truly do say.

I tried very hard to locate proper star charts to help us in this study but everything I located was too large to scan and I have included this URL for you as you locate the stars we discuss.  The optimum study agent would be a planisphere of the heavens.  If you have access to one, you will find it of interest. http://www.astro.wisc.edu/~dolan/constellations/constellation_list.html
