Make a Ripple - Make a Difference

Good Morning, Doves

The List
by

I? was reading the list of billionaires this morning.?  That is nice,? I guessm to be on the list. I didn't see my name,? maybe you if your reading this didn't see yours either. I wonder if there is a poor heirs list somewhere,? I know my name would make that list.?

I often wonder about people with lots of money. You know the millionaires. I remember a lady long dead now, complaining about how little she had compared to others. She said, and this is lots of years ago. She was only worth three million. So and so here in town was ten million. So I have often thought of those remarks.?  I wonder the more you have, the more you would like to have? I remember a fellow that said it this way.?  He could look at a nice house or car.?  Say something about he wished he had that, and they the owner had a better one..?  I guess then he would again say the same thing.

I also remember what is written in the Book of Books, the Bible.?  {Someone asked me why I always use capital letters? for the Book of Books, the Bible. I figure it is God's Book. It should be a capital letter.]...?  Anyway, there are lines in there about poor people, also lines about millionaires and billionaires.?  I believe Matthew 23 is a good one that covers it all. About verse 16 on to the end of that chapter is good reading.

Now I was looking at this list of billionaires. There is the king of the heap, there is the? poorer ones down the line. Do they wish they had what the one ahead on the list has, and so on??

I was going along the other day; some little Dollie whipped her fancy sport car passed me. Top down, she was in one lane over to another lane trying to be first in the pack. After a bit my clunker pulled up side of her at a stop sign.?  She was a Dollie alright. The license plate said Lizzie. I often thought I would like to have one of them plates with a name on it. I thought about it, getting one for Tinker and Poo's Jeep.?  That is until I found out the price. I figured Tink and Poo really didn't care, as long as they got to go when it went. To me it makes me think the person with fancy car, and a tag with some name on it is kind of look at me deal.?  Here in Husker land you have about three types of fancy plates? ? They still can't come up with one for veterans of a war like Kansas has.

Getting back to the billionaires.?  I wonder, I know some has helped others, move up in the world.?  But I also know they wanted a share of the action at the same time.. So really they were looking at the win/lose column. ? You know it was not can I help you unless I stand to gain more bucks. Is this not what Jesus was telling the rich man in Matthew 23?

Now we see this so much in this world not only in money, but other things.?  People seem to say, I could help you with a problem, but I am looking at what is in it for ME.?  We all at some time or other could help one another in some even a small problem.?  Maybe the one just can't hack it right now. A bit of help would mean so much.

The bottom line I think is, what is gained by so much wealth??  The Bible says it very well. Into this world you came with nothing, ? out of this world you go with nothing. You can gain the whole world,? when you die you leave it all for the others to fight over.

I remember a story.?  The rich man died, leaving three sons.?  One son has not made much of his life in way of money.? ?  One son walks up to the casket, drops in a big roll of green stuff, says, ???Dad you may need this on the trip."? ?  The second son walks up and puts in a much larger roll of green stuff.? ? ?  The poorer son walks up, looks at the money, pulls out a check book, and writes in a larger amount of money. He drops worthless check into the casket,? and picks up the green.
