My husband calls me Jules! hehe **Swamp Recipe Of The Day** ~Heavenly Brisket Crockpot Style~ This is a family favorite for the cold days of winter. Tender, Juicy and full of flavor. . 3-4lb. Corned Beef Brisket 1 T. Oil 1 T. Garlic powder 1 T. butter 1 Medium onion 2 stalks of celery 4 cups of water 5 potatoes 4-5 large carrots Cooking time 12-13 hours In large frying pan brown corned beef brisket with 1 T. of oil on both sides on high heat. Place brisket in Crockpot Fat side up and sprinkle with Garlic powder and spice packet that came with Brisket. Saute Onion and celery with 1 T. of butter just until barely translucent. Place onion and Celery on top of Brisket. At this point you can place in frig. until morning when ready to cook or just follow directions if you are ready to cook it now. When ready to cook: put 4 cups of water carefully in crockpot so as not to disturb the onion and celery on top of Brisket. Turn Crockpot on high. Cook on high for 3 or 4 hours. Remove Brisket and to the bottom of Crock add your potatoes and Carrots and replace Brisket on top. Add enough water to cover potatoes, carrots and 3/4 of Brisket. Cook on low for another 9-10 hours or until tender and falls apart. Brisket is a very tough meat so if it is easily cut into it is done. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ F`reebie Swamp joke of the day! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ You might be a redneck if...
