First of all to all of you that sent your well wishes and prayers I would seriously hug you all if I could! There were emails from people submitting prayer requests to their churches for my daughter, that is so wonderful! We spent 4 hours in the ER last night, the pain got so bad. I firmly believe in prayer! She was diagnosed by a awesome doctor almost immediately. Its called Trigeminal Neuralgia. He gave her 4 prescriptions to treat this, including 1 for pain. I am so happy! She should be better by Monday and actually be ready for school! I have never been so happy about sitting in the ER for 4 hours! LOL To top it off she had a infected sore throat, and a ear infection. Poor kid! So anyway, things look so much brighter today and I really do believe all your prayers worked so thank you from the bottom of my heart!! She can finally return to her normal life and be a kid again. I am going to get your goodies out, then I have to go pick up stuff for her at Walmart. Of course we'll keep her in our thoughts and prayers. The doctor probably asked you but, did Mandy bang her head or fall or anything awhile before the pain started? It sounds like some type of neuralgia. Did she have any pains in her teeth or gums? Sometimes it is dentally related. I hope the neurologists appointment isn't too far off. HEHE **Swamp Recipe Of The Day** ~Banana Fruit Cake~ Thanks Tara! Yield: 12 servings 3/4 c Butter 2 c Brown sugar 4 Eggs 2 1/2 c All-purpose flour 1 c Walnuts; chopped 3 c Candied fruit 1 c Pineapple 2 c Dates; chopped 1 tb Orange juice 1 ts Orange rind; grated 1/2 ts Orange extract 1 ts Baking powder 1 ts Baking soda 1 ts Salt 1/4 ts Ground nutmeg 1/4 ts Ground cloves 1 ts Ground cinnamon 1 1/2 c Mashed bananas Prepare two 2 loaf pans (9" x 5") and preheat the oven to 300 F. In a large bowl combine the fruit, dates, pineapple and walnuts. Dredge them with 1/4 cup of the flour. Sift the remaining flour together with the baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Set aside. Cream the butter, add the sugar and beat until the mixture is light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Beat in the orange rind, orange juice and orange extract. Mash the bananas with a fork. (A food processor will tend to liquefy the bananas and this will change the texture of the cake.) Alternately stir the bananas and the flour mixture into the creamed mixture. Stir in the floured fruit and nuts. Turn into the prepared pans and bake for 2 hours and 15 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the middle of each cake comes out clean.
