My son, who is 26 now, was a thumb sucker. I tried everything as he got older, to prevent the thumb sucking cause I was afraid it would mess up his teeth. Hypnotism did not work. Hot pepper did not work. Well, he was 9 years old and still sucking and I read this article in a magazine on how to bribe him to quit sucking his thumb. So I went into action and asked, what one thing do you want more than anything in this world? He said, a slip and slide!!!!!! I said, ok, I will buy you one if you can go 2 weeks without sucking your thumb. Well, he wanted it so bad, that he stopped sucking his thumb! I wrote to the magazine and they printed my letter in the letters to the editor. I think it was a parenting magazine. Now, my son has two thumb sucking children of his own. 5 year old Kayley and 1 year old Camren. I guess maybe one day, they can use the bribery thing. Thanks and have fun!!! I give this recipe to all new brides, and they and their new husbands love it!! You can add cubed potatoes and sliced carrots to the roast before sealing it in foil, but I like to serve it over mashed potatoes and gravy. Also, you could substitute using a four pound bone-in roast." INGREDIENTS: 3 pounds bottom round 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup 1 packet dry onion soup mix 2 tablespoons water DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Place a piece of foil, about 30 inches long, into the bottom of a 9x13 inch roasting pan. Place the roast on the foil in the pan. In a separate small bowl, combine the mushroom soup with the onion soup mix. Mix well and pour over the roast. Sprinkle with the water. Fold foil over and seal all edges.
