I just had the best 4th I think our family has ever had! Seriously. I normally do not really get into the whole fireworks thing but this year ROCKED! This was our first July 4th here in our new home. This neighborhood goes all out. Heck, I don't even know why we bought fireworks we could have just kicked back in our lawn chairs and watched everyone elses! heh! We cooked out ribs and stuff then brought out the goodies. Like I said, this year in our town if you payed $20 you could get a permit to shoot off fireworks in town. So absolutely everyone was outside shooting them off. We really had a awesome time. I bought some beautiful fountains and then the kids did the sparkler thing for hours. We all had our lawn chairs out in the driveway and just enjoyed the show. I just now came back in the house and I still hear the neighbors going at it. It literally looks like a field of fog all through the streets there is so much smoke. Oh of course Colton got scared...poor little guy there was explosions going off all around us and he kept crying so I snuck in and put him to sleep. He was totally wiped out, we had a full day. So thats my day, I hope all my swampies had a great Holiday as well! =) Oh!! Countdown to my vacation guys! I am leaving next Monday morning...excited but skeered... I am nervous to fly! LOL **Swamp Recipe Of The Day** Ellie Mae's Redneck Chicken & Potatoes Chicken 6 red potatoes Wishbone /Viva Bottled Italian Dressing Garlic Powder 1 whole lemon Paprika Marinate chicken in dressing if possible, for 3 hours (not necessary) if you don't have time. Pour dressing over chicken, just about 1/4 cup (not too much). Squeeze half the lemon onto it. Add garlic powder, paprika and, if you like, salt-pepper-oregano (optional). Meanwhile cut potatoes into quarters and boil 20 minutes. (Peeled or unpeeled whatever you want) while chicken is baking. Then add potatoes to chicken in oven. Squeeze other half lemon over potatoes and chicken, turn chicken, add more garlic powder and paprika.
