LOL I got my 1st grader to class got him to his desk only to find he had taken his pencil box out of his backpack before we even left the house this morning! Which made me feel like a big dope standing there in front of his teacher...um yes my kid is the only one here without his stuff! THEN I left there to get home and I ran out of gas! I cannot believe I got that sidetracked that I would not make sure I had gas to get home! I finally got here to get the gas can out of our garage. And to top it all off my daughter Mandy who has suffered from facial pain for a year now, missed her first day of school because it has came back full force..I am so tired of looking at doctors who cannot find anything and teachers who think we are playing hooky from school. I decided last night when she was crying that I am do not care what anyone thinks, I know this child is hurting. I did alot of research last night and I am almost positive she has TMJ. I called a specialist this morning and after speaking to the receptionist we are pretty confident this is the problem so she has a appt the 17th. If anyone has this or a child that has dealt with it please email me, any feedback would really help! Hope I know from past experience that it's not hard to worry about the mumur, I know first hand! When our son Brenndan was born he had a hole in his Heart and it was not easy to deal with! Hope we are still praying for U!! *Swamp Recipe Of The Day** ~Bacon and Potato Soup~ INGREDIENTS: 6 thick slices bacon 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped carrots 1 stalk celery, chopped 4 cups low fat, low sodium chicken broth 4 cups cubed potatoes 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt DIRECTIONS: Cook bacon until crisp in 3-quart saucepan, remove and drain well on paper towels. Discard bacon grease and wipe pan thoroughly with paper towel. Meanwhile, prepare vegetables. Add olive oil to saucepan and add onion, carrot, and celery as they are cut up. Saute until onion is soft but not brown, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in chicken broth, potatoes, and pepper; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer, covered, until potatoes are tender, about 10-15 minutes. Stir in cheese, heating just until melted--do not boil. Chop bacon and add to soup. Adjust seasoning to taste by adding salt, if desired.
