CORPORATE CRIMEFIGHTERS OF AMERICA -- Oct 17, 2007 - UPDATEUPDATE Exposing the Crimes of UnumProvident and other insurance companies ////////////////////////////// ////////////////////////////// ////////////////////////////// //////////// No I didn't stutter - this is the update to the update, Sometimes I just move too fast, but you can't let crooked insurers catch you napping ;') Here are the final three links to the most comprehensive and well-sourced article yet on the American crisis in health and disability. Get this out to the media and your congresspersons. There are three links for reader convenience - to a Word, Acrobat and HTML file. They are all identical except the HTML page didn't get the three-column setup right in Appendix B, so it's a long section These are essential when insurance company flacks lie to preserve our present rotten system. Right now a faux letter they wrote, that claims to be from a Canadian, is being circulated on the net, telling about the "horrors" of the Canadian system. It's full of lies, of course, as insurer-funded front groups and articles are. I've spoken to real Canadians and they tell me they wouldn't want our system for all the tea in China. Still, a lot of people will get the lying letter from an insurance industry hack and buy the false statistics. Again, here is a blurb about the article and the final and proper links:
/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/ MAY THEY HAVE MANY MORE CLASS ACTIONS "Quadrino Schwartz has obtained a ground-breaking ruling from a
federal court certifying a class in a class action against
UnumProvident, now called Unum. The federal Judge in Tennessee ruled on
September 4, 2007 that Unum's alleged "elaborate and corporate-wide
scheme to illegally deny or terminate the long-term disability claims
of thousands of disabled Americans" can be prosecuted as a class action.
The original lawsuit drafted and filed by Quadrino Schwartz in New
York was adopted and used as the basis for all of the class actions
that were merged into one case in Tennessee. The Court quoted
substantially from that Quadrino Schwartz Complaint, and based the
class certification decision on the legal theories and claims contained
in that Complaint. The Court agreed to define the class of disabled
victims as a very broad group of people who have had their claims
denied or terminated by Unum's subsidairies that have issued group
policies and allegedly engaged in various unlawful claims practices.
The class of people who may receive relief from this class action is
defined as follows:
Quadrino Schwartz represents 4 of the 7 individual plaintiffs in
the case who are now class representatives. Those 7 plaintiffs will now
represent the interests of thousands of people across the country whose
claims were terminated or denied by Unum's alleged illegal scheme.
In the decision, Judge Curtis Collier, the Chief Judge in the
Eastern District of Tennessee, detailed the many allegations of
unlawful conduct alleged in the Complaint, including allegations that
Unum sought to save money by budgeting the claims process, rewarding
company employees, including in-house doctors, through compensation and
bonuses for denying or terminating as many claims as possible, and
creating secret documents which predicted in advance when claims would
be terminated.
/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/ EXCELLENT ARTICLE FOR MY OLD ALLSTATE CREW http://www.sunherald.com/278/story/164063.html Home Insurers' Secret Tactics Cheat Victims,By DAVID DIETZ and DARRELL PRESTON Webmaster's Comments: This is a bit too long to copy, but well worth visiting if you have or have had, home insurance. Or have been cheated on it. What galls me is these exposes are always in smaller venues like the Sun Herald. Our major (corporate) media shys away from exposing the most criminal industry in America, since it owns stock in most of them. /-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/ ROTTEN BIRDS OF A FEATHER Webmaster's Comments: We are all hearing about Blackwater Security running amok in Iraq, killing civilians and making it Much harder for our troops to pacify the country. Our generals want these nutcases brougnt under Pentagon control, but the Administration is resisting. Of course, the head of Blackwater, Eric Prince, is a major political "contributor" to this Administration. So, of course, the bad guys have something to do with the corruption in the insurance industry. Well, not directly - but hardass military doctors who run with the mercs are being used to deny claims. Bad people congregate together: Subject: DO Miltary worker comp docs fund privatized Blackwater mercenaries? 10-14-2007
Kaiser's Newsletter!
It appears that Blackwater mercenaries-ex-military maybe be a
privatized participating trend that started in workers comp years ago.
After years of perusing QME-AME-IME medical legal reports, many
of these the doctors who wrote these reports were active in the
military which was against the USC1010 code. That no active military
doctor could exam or treat a patient unless in a national emergency
until private doctors entered the scene!
One particular active navy seal doctor would come in once a month
and do 5 exams at a time and was flown in an out from West Virginia on
a military airplane via McClellen AFB now known as McClellen Park here
in Sacramento since it closed in 7-2001.
This worker comp fiasco started way back in the early 90's and very possibly earlier!
None of these military docs would display their medical licenses
and injured workers/patients were forced to go to these doctors, or
they were threatened to lose their benefits-which they lost anyway-by
self-insured employers like Kaiser and paid for by TPA's-Third Party
Administrators like Associated Claims, Athens, now called Jenkins
Athens in Walnut Creek, Ca. one of the few towns that TPA's reside in.
One exam can generate an average of 1000.00 and the employer can
and does force the injured worker/patient to go again and again which
now the military doc has to review even more treatment reports
including his own previous reports.
They charge by how many hours they spend reviewing the VOLUMINOUS files. These files only get voluminous because the patients/claimant real treatment is denied and other collusive doctors (referrals by the comp docs) can just keep precribing treatments like heavy doses of pain meds that do more harm then good and blood tests that tell a medical history unrelated to the original injuries-evidence based medicine! The patients will be forced to go again to the QME for more reviewing and since the real treatment is denied, then their disabilities are hidden forever thus denying them their rightful compensation.while the worker comp docs make thousands u pon thousands of dollars! So how much money can the same QME-AME-IME docs make? About
5000.00 a month for 5 exams? While on active duty? Do they declare
that money on their taxes? What would they spend that money on? Maybe a
few personal items such as big boats, top of the line motor homes
hidden on former AFBases-ANOTHER REASON FOR PRIVATIZATION!!!!,
AND homes in Incline Village Ca that are cared for by illegals.? And
in some agreed reciprococity, send some of that money to mercernaries
in Irag or wherever? So injuring workers is profitable for self-insured
employers like Kaiser for profits to military doctors with no
accountability as to their real worth and a trail of money going
to privatized companies like Blackwater? Oh! And Erik Prince, the
founder of Blackwater! HE too, was a navy seal like the above worker
comp doc!
Do TPA's like the ones that represent Kaiser report all the
TPA's insurance money that have gone to military docs? Do they
report ANY of the TPA's insurance money they spend that go to defense
attorneys to litigate injured workers or is THAT money too rerouted to
places like the cayman islands and then off to places like Europe, the
mideast and the fareast for mercernaries to DO as they please? Nothing
more despicable then a revolving door of injured workers to generate
money for war mongers!

/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/ My appeal for funding seems to have gotten so old that nobody is noticing it, so I'm making it a nice shade of Fuchsia. I've always wanted to use Fuchsia, since it sounds funny. Heck, I didn't even know what it looked like until I looked it up ;') Support our work so you can continue to get information and so we can warn and help others. Ten bucks a month, or send a larger one-time donation. I'd like to support this entirely by myself but I've made a number of mistakes since coming to AZ, including the wrong "friends," and wrong decisions. Besides, it's only right that this be a group effort. I'm far from perfect, but I'm the only one doing this and I think I'm good at what I do. With more support I could really ramp it up to what it should be. Donate A One-Time Kickstart Amount or Ten Bucks a Month or both if you are a real angel. Or send a check here if you don't use PayPal, although they do now take credit cards. Jim Mooney Jim Mooney, webmaster: www.corporatecrimefighters.com Email me at cybervigilante@gmail.com |
