THE MAINE INSURANCE COMMISSIONER, IUPPA

Is the same crook who threatened Judy and her group from trying to block the Unum-Provident merger, which made the company even more corrupt and cost stockholders billions. Yet this fraud is still in office. He has, of course, dropped out of the 45-state Unum investigation task force and many of the henchpersons in his department work hand-in-glove with the robbers at Unum.

Here is a report on the latest perfidy of the corrupt Maine Dept of Insurance:

THE RIGHT THEY ALL KEEP SECRET

Every few weeks you'll see some jury member tearfully going on that they had no choice but to render a decision they felt was unjust, and convict some basically innocent person, because the judge had  solemnly instructed them to follow the law.

The problem is, this is pure bull$#t. No jury has to render an unjust decision no matter what the $#@! Judge says. They are totally within their rights to ignore both the law and the (usually pro-corporate or pro-government) instructions of the judge.

Every American jury has the right to Jury Nullification of Unjust Law, declaring the accused Innocent on that basis alone. And there are a lot of unjust if not insane or unfair laws, our drug and tax laws right at the top.

But almost no one on an American jury knows of this right.

The civics texts don't teach it. The arrogant and corrupt judges, who want to be gods in their own courts, sure don't tell the jury about it. Even the lawyers don't - not even defense lawyers who might get their clients off - since they are terrified of appearing again before a judge who is angry that Americans were actually informed of their rights, thus depriving him of some of his dictatorial powers.

Of course, if you ever get on a jury you'll probably have to carry documents to prove to the other jurors that they have this right, since it is buried so deep by those who would disempower us. And if anyone finds you know about this during jury examination, they'll certainly kick you off. How dare American jurors have the right to decide if a law is just, and thus exceed the power of their stupid and corrupt legislatures or their corporate-bribed judges? God forbid. So don't expect to ever hear about this right anywhere.

Except here ;')

THE LOST 400 RE-ENABLED

Well, almost 400. These are the bounced addresses that the mailing service has graciously re-enabled. I think the main problem is not with the service but all these big ISPs like AOL, blocking valid mail because they have idiotic "spam" software. I've had this problem before, and now other big ISPs seem to be following suit. So we'll see if some of he bounced addresses work this time.

In other words, if you are getting this but didn't get newsletters for awhile, please check our archives for newsletters you missed - because I've been sending them out regularly (URL at bottom.)

YES, YOU'RE STILL IN BAD HANDS WITH ALLSTATE

Attention!

Maureen McCool has put together a group of attorneys who are suing Allstate in Los Angeles Superior Court on behalf of 2 agents who lost their businesses based upon Allstate's violations of the California Insurance Code. They are working with the Department of Insurance regarding this issue, and would appreciate any information or help that visitors of this site may be able and willing to provide. They want any information regarding the contracts signed, and how Allstate uses credit information when deciding who to insure. All information will remain confidential. Other agents interested in joining the lawsuit or wishing to contact her regarding the lawsuit, or the DOI investigation, should e-mail her with Allstate in the subject line. You may also contact her using the information listed below.

WHO ARE THE REAL GOLEMS?

I like to watch "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and it is replete with the undead - they usually have great power and cleverness, but no souls. They kill and destroy in their own interest, without thought or mercy. But who are the undead in real life?

Who has great power and cleverness, but no soul? Who will kill and destroy in its own interest, without thought or mercy?

Corporations! They are The Undead of the Twenty-First Century, not those silly creatures you see on TV.

Of course, as I've said many times, not all corporations are equally evil. The ones that produce hard goods are subject to immediate feedback - make a bad computer and you go out of business. Thus, manufacturers are often reasonably fair.  Financial services companies, on the other hand, such as banks and insurers, produce such a shadowy product that no one can figure out if they are doing right or wrong. So it's a lot easier for them to go rotten.

Thus, I was saddened today to hear that the top companies in the Fortune 500 are no longer manufacturers of real goods, but those same financial services companies, along with a retailer I hold in disrepute. The biggest companies in America no longer make useful things.

They just make money.

There is something wrong about that.

OPTIMISTS LIVE LONGER - BBC 8 February 2000

Optimists have a longer life-span than pessimists, researchers have concluded. They found that people with a positive outlook live, on average, 19% longer than those who are miserable.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/635292.stm

Webmaster's comment: This may seem an odd item here with all this negative news about insurers, but what I'm optimistic about is Getting the Truth out and Fighting Back ;') Bowing under the corporate boot would be pessimistic. I have the insanely optimistic viewpoint that one person or a small group can actually bring down these monsters or shackle them so they can do much less harm. It is the same optimism David had when he slew Goliath.

I am optimistic that can expand this operation and somehow, somewhere, the funding and the people will show up ;')

HEALTHCARE AND POLITICAL BRIBERY IN FLORIDA

Friends,

This is what happens to those who have the courage to stand up to this administration and their push anything through policies.  They are pushing things through the legislature through different committees than usual, in some cases not following their own procedures, and anyone who doesn't agree with them is the enemy.  Please write to all lawmakers and call your local offices and let them know that we respect representative Bucher and her courage and that we will not stand for a witch hunt because someone has the courage to stand up to them.

Representative Susan Bucher is one of the few lawmakers who put the well being of the average citizens of this state over that of the well being of special interest groups as long as she believes she is doing the right thing.  She is one of the last voices of the people in this state.  This woman has tremendous courage to stand up to the so called leadership in the house.

Please write and call in her support for the next week saying we will not stand for any censorship or removal of this woman from committees.  We expect no disciplinary action to be taken.  It is unconscionable to penalize this woman for expressing her concerns and views.  Take the time to do this friends.  We must stand up for the few lawmakers left willing to stand up for the people.  If you don't have contact information for the legislature feel free to contact me and I will email it to you or you can go to our webpage www.voicesflorida.com and find the information there.  Representative Bucher has been one of the few supporters in our legislature to restore injured workers rights over the past few years.

(Here is a link to the article, which is too long for the newsletter.)

Webmaster's comments: Why am I not surprised that state legislators take bribes from the drug and healthcare industry? We already know our good folks in Washington do. The current "senior drug" bill, which was promised during the last election but "forgotten" until this one, was described as a big, sloppy, wet kiss to the pharmaceutical industry. For one thing, it forbids drug importation from Canada to lower costs, even to the Government. It forbids bidding lower drug costs for Medicare. Basically this is a bill to pour billions into pharm industry pockets while putting up some tiny pretense of Senior drug assistance. Typical government - bribe some industry with ten billion dollars then they will "contribute" ten million to your election campaign. Terrible economics with a hundred thousand percent loss; but then, they aren't paying the bribes to corporations - we are.

GEE, WHAT A SURPRISE - A COMPANY LAWYER DOESN'T TELL THE TRUTH

Dear Crime Fighters:

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?  On December 4,2003 I presented my case against Allmerica Financials lawyer, my disability carrier, before the Connecticut Statewide Grievance Committee. The charges were for subverting justice by filing a false Affidavit. The affidavit was in defense of the company's claim that I was not disabled. On March 4, 2004 I went before the Committee once again via video conferencing, because I am unable to travel due to my disability. The cost to me for the process was $ 200 dollars per hour. During the process of examination and cross examination Allmerica's Lawyer, Debra Conner, who by the way is the president of the New England anti Fraud Association, admitted that she did not have personal knowledge of the facts she testified to in the affidavit.

Jay B. Luttes

Access to the conclusion can be found on my Web Site at WWW.ALLMERICAFRAUD,COM

Webmaster's comments: Odds are little or nothing will happen to the lawyer for the insurer. I recall many cases where Allstate officials were caught committing forgery, but I can't recall one ever being sanctioned under the law as you or I would be for forgery. As for anti-Fraud Associations, they are nearly always run by insurers, who are the biggest frauds, in order to convince the public and legislators that the much Smaller fraud by claimants is the problem, when it is not.

Insurance company lawyers will do almost anything to "get the job done," knowing they will usually not be caught, and seldom if ever sanctioned.

PS

Someone just wrote me that MetLife disability plans/px pulls the same crooked tricks as Unum. Most insurers do the same tricks - I call it the Technology Transfer of Crime. Does anyone have info on MetLife? They're a bit far afield of Unum, which I feel is the largest and the worst - however, if your life is destroyed by a small villian rather than a large one it doesn't make much difference.

THE UNFINISHED TASK

"Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day." Theodore Roosevelt, April 19, 1906
