SHUTTING DOWN THE SITES - A CONVERSATION WITH ONE OF OUR READERS

I HAVE to respond to this. It is TIME for every subscriber to send in
at least a modest donation. No more whining about "I can't afford to
give anything" either. If I can afford to give, YOU can afford to give.
Look, my only income comes from my Social Security Disability benefits
{hardly generous} After taxes & buying my medications, we're left with
less than $900 for the entire month - to pay mortgage, utilities, food,
car expenses & gas, doctor visits, pet food & supplies, etc. Somehow
we manage to scrape by & support ourselves, our child, our enormous
Rottweiler, & 27 rescued cats. {The cats are the result of our local
feral rescue group; we're hoping to find foster homes for them soon.}

The point is that I STILL donate $20 to this cause every few months.
So, yes, you CAN afford it. It doesn't even have to be $20. Give just
a little bit, but give something, for God's sake. Break open your piggy
bank. Look under the couch cushions. Check the glove box of your car.
Consider it to be treasure hunting. Find as much money as you can and
send it in to support this cause that you believe in.

Jim's doing all this work for us; we owe it to the cause to give a few
dollars back - at the very least. Please don't shrug it off, thinking
that someone else will do it. They WON'T. It has to be YOU this time.
Please.

Thanks,

Jim's Final Response:

The reason I posted this conversation is to explain the sites going down. Due to various problems that have arisen - personal, legal, medical and financial - and my taking too much time on Unum and not enough on them, I am overdrawn at the bank. My debit card pays for the commercial site hosting, and it had to be a higher-priced commercial site since there are some huge documents online at the micethatroar site, and a lot of Judy's story on the main site. Anyway, I can no longer pay for corporatecrimefighters.com and micethatroar.com so they are going down.

I will maintain the newsletter for now since that is a free service, although it may largely be sporadic posts by Judy until I resolve my affairs. If things clear up in the future I will reinstall the site, although I may lose search engine ranking in the interim. Anyway, this may also give me time to redesign the site. So much info comes out about Unum that it's become terribly cluttered and needs anand  entire reworking.

This is unfortunate. There are millions of dollars paid to insurance industry liars and crooks, but if you tell the truth on them you are strapped for funding. If everyone who got this paid the $15/yr subscription fee, it would fund this site totally and allow us to do more against Unum, and perhaps expand to other companies.  But as it is, there is about a 1% response, and always from the same ten to fifteen people, who do More than their share. It makes me wonder if I'm only reaching about fifteen people and if this is even worth the effort.

There is a lot of effort in making trouble for Unum, connecting people, reading depressing email and giving advice that takes a good deal of time and energy that I must now devote to digging out of my own hole. I would like to get out the story about the 9-11 victims that Unum cheats, for instance, and keep the pressure up on the multistate task force, redesign the site and publicize it more. But that all takes time and effort. If I can't even afford to keep a commercial site going, it is not worth the effort.

I don't think asking Everyone for a tiny subscripion fee of fifteen dollars a year, that most people would waste in a day, is too much for all the trouble I make for Unum, all the advice I give, contacts I make with people and just doing whatever I can, such as pushing the media and keeping on top of the task force report.  And I could do even more with funding. I may not be perfect, but I'm the only one doing this at present.  I can't help others if I don't get help myself, though.  That doesn't mean I can always help. The best lawyers in the nation are often stymied by Unum - but I do try.

Oddly enough, my overdraft was caused by a charity that draws on the account. We've been supporting a child overseas. If I have to cut her off, I'm sure not going to keep This charity work going either.

I will keep the sites up for another week because Judy has posted her entire case in a nutshell that she wants people to download in case they want to work with her on it. The case is at http://www.micethatroar.com/judylegal

Also, I will post Judy's legal documents to a free site I have available and notify everyone of the new URL. I may eventually transfer the old URLs there but the site will be much cut down since it's an enormous upload and lots of work to change over.

THE UNFINISHED TASK
"Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day."
