Dear Mr. Deshpande, The September Conference of the autonomous women's groups & movements is not structured in such a way that anyone's papers can be read out. In fact, there will be no paper presentations, even from women's groups and activists. This is not the Conference of the Indian Assn of Women's Studies; this is the activists' conference. Though the first Conference did have papers ( held before the 1st IAWS Conference), the subsequent ones did not. At this activists' Conference, we hope that women from different marginalised & oppressed groups will articulate orally, their views, their experiences, their struggles and resistances. But you are always welcome to send your note to us. Thank you. And regards, Ammu Abraham From: Pradeep Deshpande Subject: [indiathinkersnet] for women centre. This is for Women Centre/Amu Abraham I have prepared a note on Women Empowerment ;Why and How? for presentation during the conference in Kolkata in Sept.2006. I request to send e-mail of the women centre or hosts to whom this can be sent for consideration. ------ |
