From corporate peak to spiritual journey

http://www.khabrein.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=798&Itemid=58

Putting away the perks and pressures of corporate
life, a good number of Muslims are now seeking a life
devoted towards spirituality.

By M Hanif Lakdawala

(www.Khabrein.info Special)  Rauf Surti, 49 a
mechanical engineer from VJTI, Mumbai, and MBA from
IIM-Ahmedabad, resigned from a multinational company
in Dubai, came back to Mumbai and started devoting
time organizing personality development training and
spiritual development programmes for the Muslim youth.

Hussain Amir, 34, a Timber merchant started managing
business with the help of professionals and started
devoting maximum time traveling inviting people
towards Islam.

Basit Shaikh 37, a software consultant, is cutting
down on corporate assignments and is more keen on
taking up projects related to Islam such as hosting
and designing websites for different Muslim
organizations.

In the present time, where changes take place at a
rapid pace, many individuals after attaining a peak in
their respective careers are beginning to ask
themselves, “What will give us contentment and
satiety”?

Hindus mourn Friday blast with Muslims, shut down
complete in many places
By Khabrein Staff Reporter:

Hyderabad, May 19: Hyderabad today observed a complete
shutdown with no major untoward incident being
reported from the city. The shutdown is being observed
on a call given by the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen
(MIM) and several Muslim and communist organizations
in the state. Several towns are witnessing protest
rallies in the state. Though the chief minister is
still saying that only 16 people were killed Friday in
blast and the subsequent police firing, the total
number of casualties from the blast if Muslim leaders
are to be believed has come to nine while 10 persons
were killed in police firing.

Notwithstanding the fact that no organisation has
called for a shutdown in other parts of the state,
many traders and business establishments have
voluntarily shut down shops in a mark of protest. In
towns like Adilabad, Hindus also joined their Muslim
brethren in rallies to protest the bomb attack.

Hyderabad, May 20 (IANS) The Majlis-e-Ittehadul
Muslimeen (MIM), a party with a large following in the
Muslim-majority old city of Hyderabad, Sunday staged a
protest in front of the Andhra Pradesh police
headquarters demanding immediate suspension of the
police officials responsible for firing after Friday's
bomb blast at the historic Mecca Masjid.

Led by party leader and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi,
MIM activists staged a sit-in in front of the office
of Director General of Police (DGP) in Saifabad,
throwing traffic out of gear in the heart of the city.

Another mobile phone recovered from blast site

Hyderabad, May 20: Another mobile phone, a Nokia 6030,
was found Sunday from the water tank of the Mecca
Masjid along with pieces of the explosive device that
went off Friday killing 11 people and injuring many
others.
A team of officials from the National Security Guards
(NSG), forensic experts and bomb disposal squad combed
through the scene of the blast at the 400-year-old
mosque and recovered a mobile phone from the 'Wazu
Khana', where worshippers wash their hands and face
before prayers.

Hyderabad peaceful, police find more clues to blast

http://www.khabrein.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=789&Itemid=66
Hyderabad, May 20 (IANS) The situation remained
peaceful in the old city of Hyderabad Sunday with no
untoward incidents reported overnight, while police
claim to have got some clues in their probe into
Friday's bomb blast at the Mecca Masjid that claimed
16 lives, including five in police firing.
The communally sensitive old city area on the southern
side of Musi River remained largely incident-free
since Saturday even as police and paramilitary forces
continued to keep vigil.
