Subject: 100 year old Hindu temple brought down in Malaysia: Times of India j

Dear Muslim Friends

I seek your understanding on why this type of intolerance exists in Islamic countries happens. When Muslims are in minority they expect tolerance, secularism freedom of religion, --- but they do the exact opposite when they are in majority.

This is from gulf times of destruction of a chinese temple. http://www.gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp? cu_no=2&item_no=118143&version\ =1&template_id=45&parent_id=25

KUALA LUMPUR: A top Malaysian minister has urged local authorities in this Muslim-majority country to immediately cease demolition of Hindu temples after a 100-year-old shrine was pulled down early this week.

Works Minister and head of the Malaysian Indian Congress Samy Vellu, who is of Indian origin, said that Hindu temples built on encroached land were still being demolished despite his appeals to the various state chief ministers.

Vellu said the Indian community had no choice but to build their temples on private or government-owned land, as they did not own any land of their own to build the temples.

Referring to the demolition of the Maha Mariamman Templea in Padang Jawa on Tuesday, Vellu said it had hurt the feelings of the Hindu community in the area.

Four people were reportedly hurt and dozens detained following scuffles between devotees and the city authorities over the century-old temple, the local media said.

"Temples are still being destroyed even though I have repeatedly brought the issue up during meetings with chief ministers," the minister said in a statement, the New Straits Times said today.

He added that the government could not penalise those who merely wished to practise their religion and exercise their right to believe in God.

"It is a well-known fact that the majority of Hindu voters, and almost the entire Indian community in fact, are Barisan Nasional (the ruling coalition) supporters.

"As such, I am pleading with the government to not resort to drastic measures like demolishing temples, even though they have been constructed illegally."

LPP vows to resist draconian Emergency

Lends full support to resisting judges

Hails lawyers for taking up the fight

Lahore: The Labour Party Pakistan (LPP) has strongly condemned the Musharraf regime for imposing Emergency thus depriving the people of Pakistan of their already-limited basic human and democratic rights. The LPP Chairperson, Nisar Shah, and Secretary General Farooq Tariq, in a joint statement issued here Saturday vowed to resist the imposition of Emergency in collaboration with civil society bodies, trade unions and opposition parties. While lending full support to the resisting Supreme Court judges and Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Ch., the LPP leaders condemned Justice hameed Dogar for taking oath under new PCO saying: ‘ Regardless of the immediate outcome of the judges fight against the generals, the resisting judges have deprived the Emergency of all its justification’ . They said that it was unprecedented in the history of Pakistan that judiciary had showed such a courage. ‘This resistance also owes to the mass movement led by lawyers fraternity last summer that humbled the Musharaff regime and chief justice was reinstated',’ they added. They also hailed the Karachi lawyers for taking lead in announcing to launch their struggle to fight back Emergency. The LPP leaders appealed to activists, trade unions and civil body organisations to join hands with resisting judges and lawyers to rid the country of military regime. They said: ‘Though the regime is likely to use Taliban-occupation of certain districts in Frontier province as a pretext to impose Emergency yet it is most likely that Emergency is imposed to pre-empt a court ruling against Musharaff's re-election. Emergency means that all basic democratic rights will be suspended while courts would have their powers curtailed’. ‘Pakistan has been in grip of political crisis and regime was facing growing mass resentment. This Emergency is a desperate attempt to cling to power,’ they added.

Europe woos skilled immigrants with 'blue cards' By Shubha Singh http://www.khabrein.info/index.php? option=com_content&task=view&id=8213&Itemid=8\

Several countries in Europe are finding it difficult to fill jobs that require highly skilled workers. The European Union (EU) does not have clear procedures for legal migration such as the migration channels that exist in the US, Canada and Australia. Business enterprises have to go through a cumbersome process to apply for work permits for their overseas employees.

The European Commission (EC) has recently floated a proposal for a 'blue card' on the lines of the coveted American 'green card' to enable legal migration of highly skilled migrants to European countries

Subject: Re: [indiathinkersnet] Urgent Appeal from Nandigram for Help!

Due to the regimented attack and terrors created by CPM cadres, the people of Satengabari and nearby districts are severely affected

I have seen it in the news that due to the (CPM) attacks CPM cadres are murdered!

Murdering the CPM caders in Nandigram and appealing for Help!

THIS IS THE AVTAR OF HITLER + MODI!

Violent Assault Of Armed Trinamul-Maoist Goons On Nandigram

A FRESH wave of violence was unleashed on the hapless villagers of Nandigram Block II on the successive evenings of October 23 and 24. Both days witnessed planned attacks by the Trinamul Congress and Maoist lumpen on the villages to the west of the Talapati canal. Rural populace inhabiting villages after villages in the area were forced to flee and become homeless yet once again. Biman Basu, state secretary of the Bengal unit of the CPI(M) has called for a unity of the rural poor to keep the attackers at bay.

More than 50 households were looted. More than 30 people were hurt in the attack, with eleven seriously injured. As the households were looted bare, the local libraries were set fire to by the Maoists amidst gleeful slogan-mongering.

The leaders of the Midnapore east district unit of the CPI(M) are fearful that the entire Nandigram Block II would be taken over by the attacking Trinamul Congress-Maoist goons. The Nandigram Block-I is already under the control of the Trinamul-Maoists desperadoes. The same fate, the district CPI(M) believes would befall the Nandigram Block II. Indeed, once Amdabad Panchayat area is compromised, the entire Block II will be occupied by the Trinamul Congress and the Maoists.

Having been beaten back by the villagers a couple of days back, the Maoists-Trinamul goondas came well-prepared this time. Carrying hand-guns, muskets, swords as well as country-made explosives in plentiful, the attackers streamed down the two incoming routes near Satengabari and Dihi Kamalpur. Both localities have recently been re-occupied by the Trinamul-Maoist goons. The two groups were forty each in number and rode motorcycles.

The attacks on both evenings lasted for three hours each. The police showed restraint and would not fire upon the attackers. However, later at night a few of the villagers could return to their ruined households with the help of the police. The upshot of the ‘struggle’ of the ‘save agricultural committee’ has been the occupation of a large area 25 kilometres long and several kilometres wide on the west and north of the Talapati canal.

Once Takapura is run over, all the Panchayat areas of both blocks, comprising Nandigram will be under occupation (quite literally) of the armed and trained Maoists assassins and their Trinamul Congress lackeys. Khejuri will then be the inevitable next target of assault and mayhem. The roads around the occupied areas have been cut up, making entry and exit impossible for the rural people who remain inside the zone and continue to defy the might of the attackers
