[1] From: Regi P George <george_regi@yahoo.com Date: Sun Nov 25, 2007 Subject: Re: [Mahajanapada] Naroda Patiya to Nandigram People who find comparison in Gujrath and Nandigram forgets. That Disaster is the biggest business of todays world. Katrina or Iraq War or Gujrath Genocide or Nandigram people are engaged in disaster business. In this aspect the comparison of Katrina Hit US Costal area or War Hit Iraq have too many similarities with Nandigram and the Embedded journalism related to Disaster busniess. I can write a full length email in line with Pamela Philipose's article finding comparisons with Gujrath and Nandigram. A comparison of Bush and Sukla Sen engaged in Disaster Business. Such comparisons and the people engaged in such comparisons are trying to minimising or trying to simplify the Gujrath Genocide only. And they are engaged in whitewashing Modi and Sangparivar. And people should have some intention to engage in finding such comparisons regi. The Western UP Zone of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind hosted the programme in the Conference Hall of its office at Darul Islam in the Molvi Ganj area of the city. The main purpose of the programme was to train Muslim activists to effectively play their role in the protection of civil rights and it was the first event of its kind in the proposed series of similar programmes in different parts of the country. ------------- [3] From: "manz195" <manz195@yahoo.com Date: Mon Nov 26, 2007 Subject: Pictures of Allama Mashriqi's car (Renault -1926). The rotting state of the car is a testament to the fact that there is endless discussion and headlines regarding Pakistani politicians - who have brought nothing but misery to the nation - but have no time to preserve the legacy of the true heroes of the Pakistani nation. Some have close links with CAIR, a soft front for Islamic terror organizations. It is vital to keep an eye on their activities. http://www.telegraphindia.com/1071125/asp/frontpage/story_8590263.asp *Idris arrested, Sultan nervous* OUR BUREAU *Calcutta, Nov. 24:* The detective department today arrested Idris Ali, the All India Minority Forum president who led Wednesday's road blockades that snowballed into street riots. An embarrassed Congress, whose minority cell Idris once headed, expelled him, having served him with a suspension notice just a day earlier. The police have so far not acted against the other political face of the rampage, Trinamul Congress general secretary Sultan Ahmed, who had publicly said his "boys" were among the rioters. Ahmed himself feared he might be arrested in a day or two. "My name has also appeared in newspapers… so I, too, fear arrest," he said tonight. Police commissioner Gautam Mohan Chakraborti merely said: "Investigation is on. So we cannot reveal who are going to be arrested." Idris was returning home from an undisclosed place when the police stopped his car on Ripon Street, where he lives, around 6pm. He was bundled into a police car and whisked away to Lalbazar. "He has been booked under several non-bailable charges, including rioting, causing hurt with dangerous weapons and damage to public and private property. He has been taken to the Lalbazar central lock-up and will be produced in court tomorrow," Chakrabarti said. Officials said a medical test had been carried out on Idris. The lawyer's sister Husnara Begum, daughters Rupa and Ruma, and son Imran came to Lalbazar to meet him. "Some people are saying he was in hiding but that's not true. He was living at home as usual," Idris's brother-in-law Firoz Ali said. *The Telegraph*had spoken to Idris at his home landline number last night. The police also arrested three Karaya toughs — Mohammed Salauddin, Mohammed Imtiaz and Mohammed Amir — in connection with Wednesday's mayhem. A Sealdah court magistrate, however, granted interim bail to 54 people arrested by Beniapukur and Topsia police on the charges of blocking roads, rioting, looting and damaging private and public vehicles. The state government did not oppose their bail prayers after it was discovered that these men had been arrested before the rampage broke out in earnest. ----------- [5] From: "manz195" <manz195@yahoo.com Date: Sun Nov 25, 2007 Subject: Allama Mashraqi's son boycott elections Allama Mashraqi's son boycott elections: http://www.allamamashraqi.com "Khaksars to boycott elections" By Our Reporter LAHORE, Nov 24: The Khaksar Tehrik on Saturday announced boycott of the forthcoming general elections. At a press conference here on Saturday, tehrik president Hamiduddin Al-Mashriqi said the party had decided to boycott the elections in accordance with the decision taken by its Majlis-i-Shoora. The shoora had declared that fair elections were not possible in the presence of military dictatorship. He said Khaksar Tehrik was of the view that the elections would not be peaceful because of seeds of discord sown by Gen Pervez Musharraf. He thanked the Tehrik-i-Insaaf chairman for accepting the proposal of Khaksars to boycott elections and called upon other political parties to announce a `collective boycott' and start a campaign against dictatorship.
