SHARE YOUR VIEWS WITH FELLOW SOUTH ASIAN ATTORNEYS ON TV A brand new national network is producing a show featuring South Asian attorneys addressing current legal events in a roundtable discussion format. If you are an articulate, opinionated South Asian attorney interested in expressing your views on a tv show with a worldwide audience, please contact Sanjana at legalbeatroundtable@yahoo.com. Please supply us with your name, age and contact information. There will be a participant match up session where you will be asked to engage in a practice roundtable. You will be supplied with a list of topic choices to prepare beforehand. These will include topics such as: The Pledge of Allegiance: Nationalism in a Multi-Religious Society - The Patriot Act: balancing concerns of national security in a democratic society committed to civil rights - The Outsourcing Debate and the Government's ban on outsourcing its own jobs -- The granting of US patents for "inventions" that have long been used in India (Neem & Turmeric for example) - The Backlash Against Sikh "headgear" and a turban's place in modern American society. The pilot is scheduled to begin shooting soon. Feel free to forward this information to any other interested South Asian attorneys. |
