Bangalore, Mar. 26 (KMS& MRS)- Former Minister Mr. Kumar
Bangarappa, who was dumped by his father Mr. S. Bangarappa,
has returned to Congress seeking shelter, leaving his
father and brother in the BJP.

Mr. Kumar Bangarappa will rejoin the Congress at New
Delhi this evening at 4 O' clock in the presence of
Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Karnataka Chief
Minister Mr. S.M. Krishna.

The Congress today revoked the expulsion of Mr. Kumar
Bangarappa who had joined BJP following his father's
footsteps only recently.

Congress High Command is learnt to have decided to field
Mr. Kumar Bangarappa from Soraba Assembly constituency
(Shimoga district) where his brother Mr. Madhu Bangarappa
is contesting as a BJP candidate.

With this development the feud in the Bangarappa family
has taken a political twist as Mr. Bangarappa has openly
defended his decision to deny BJP ticket to Mr. Kumar.

Mr. Bangarappa, while addressing party workers at Shimoga
three days ago, had criticised the style of functioning of
Kumar as a Minister in the Krishna Government.

"He ignored the poor and the down-trodden. He sidelined
me and colluded with my political rivals," Mr. Bangarappa
had alleged.

However, at his supporters meeting in Soraba yesterday,
Mr. Kumar Bangarappa had denied these allegations saying
that the Chief Minister himself had commended his
performance.

He had also said that he did not want to fight his own
brother Madhu in Soraba constituency.

However, in order to embarrass Mr. Bangarappa, the
Congress has decided to pitch Mr. Kumar against
Mr. Madhu.

Mr. Kumar has called upon his supporters not to allow
BJP even to their door-steps as the party had started
breaking families.
