It is considered as the alternative Nobel Prize. Dr. Engineer has been on the forefront of many struggles against communalism and religious fanaticism that have taken place in India. He has also been a fearless fighter for reform in the Bohra community to which he belongs by birth. He is an Asia peace member and highly respectable member of the secular Indian Society.
