1) After 14 years, a Naxalite rally in Hyderabad

Hyderabad : Naxalites of the People's War group on Thursday organised a massive rally in the midst of efforts to revive peace talks.

Holding red flags and dancing to the tunes of revolutionary songs, hundreds of sympathisers and members of PWG's frontal organisations, mobilised from across Andhra Pradesh, marched through the streets as party of the rally.

The rally commenced at Indira Park and will culminate in a public meeting at the sprawling Nizam College grounds later in the evening.

2) Three Ministers in team for talks with naxals

HYDERABAD, SEPT. 29. Ahead of the peace talks scheduled with the People's War in October, the State Government today announced its representatives for the talks, apart from a seven-member team of mediators to supervise the same. 3) Top naxal leaders to skip meet

4) Left `no' to monitoring panel

HYDERABAD, SEPT 29. In a hitch to the Government's efforts, the State Communist Party of India(CPI) and the Communist Party of India(Marxist) have decided to withdraw their party leaders from the 20-member monitoring committee (MC) announced by the Home Minister to oversee the ceasefire between the police and People's War naxalites. 5) Singh warns armed Naxals

Hyderabad, Sept. 29: Hours before the Naxals begin their first meeting in the city in 15 years, Commissioner of Police R P Singh sent out a warning on Wednesday that serious action will be taken if PWG activists attend the meeting with arms. Singh said the PWG had not clarified whether they would be armed or not. ???If they come with arms we will not keep quiet,??? he added. 6) State names mediators for talks

Hyderabad, Sept. 29: The State government on Wednesday appointed a nine-member committee, including four Ministers, to participate in the proposed negotiations with the People??™s War Naxalites. The committee, headed by Home Minister K Jana Reddy, comprises Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, Social Welfare Minister Redya Naik, Municipal Administration Minister Koneru Ranga Rao, former ministers T Purushottama Rao, M Sashidhar Reddy, K Keshava Rao and Paladudu Venkat Rao and Tirupati Urban Development Auth-ority chairman Karunakar Reddy. 7) Naxalites attack Anusha??™s mother

Warangal, Sept. 29: Oddepally Bhadramma, the valiant mother who got her 13-year-old daughter Anusha released from the Janashakti group of Naxalites recently, once aga-in had to go to the forest to ???fight??? with them. This time, the Naxals, who again abduc-ted Anusha, were in no mood to send back the student of Class IX with her mother.

8) Maoist people's court to decide fate of cop

8-A) Abduction of Chhattisgarh SI: Naxals extend deadline

BHADRACHALAM: The People??™s War Group (PWG) Naxalites, who kidnapped Kovakonda SI Prakash Soni in Chhattisgarh on September 17, about 70 kms away from here on Wednesday extended the deadline by five days.

9) Maoists rob cops of cash and uniform

RANCHI: Two Jharkhand policemen, who were bringing a prisoner to a hospital here for treatment, were accosted by armed Maoist guerrillas who robbed them off their cash, handcuffs -- and uniforms.

11) Orissa CM??™s statement on PWG lauded

VISHAKAPATNAM: CPI (ML) People??™s War, Andhra-Orissa Border spokesperson Diwakar on Wednesday welcomed the statement of Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik that the government would withdraw cases against 156 Naxalites.

This step will help create congenial atmosphere in Orissa, he said adding the Government should also consider the withdrawal of para military forces stationed in various areas, according to a press release.
