Singh" <yogeshpratapsingh@y...> __________________________ Dear Friends, You all may be aware that a large number of whistleblowers are being victimised, annihilated, and then relegated to the position of inconsequence. 2. Of late, there has been a merciless victimisation of whistleblowers working under those officers whose corruption is exposed by them. As such, there are hardly any honest and effective officers left in sensitive departments. I am one such officer of the IPS who is being constrained to leave, that way, one of the most glamorous and sought-after jobs of the country, commanding incredible respect, power and position. 3. Having gone through the travails, I know as to what sacrifice is required to be someone who wants to work not for his own self, but for others! Seeing the pitiable state of honest officers in the public services and the thriving career of the corrupt ones, no new officer now wants to tread the self-destructive path of whistle-blowing! This is not a good trend for the society. The ultimate loss in the entire matrix is as much of the rich as it is of the poor. We have to reverse this trend and ensure that more and more whistleblowers emerge so as to contain the evil. 4. Therefore, the following proposal is being explored by me. 4.1 PROPOSAL: To provided placement assistance to an honest officer, post-victimisation. Thereby, he can fall back upon in case of formidable reprisals by the men in power. With an assured future, more and more whistleblowers would feel emboldened to expose corruption. 4.2 ACTION: (a) Pursuant to this idea I plan to build up a database of known officers of impeccable integrity who are on the verge of annihilation. With their sterling attributes they could be rehabilitated by arranging a proper placement for them Note: The database so made shall be used to help in the post-annihilation resurrection and not when they are still potent to fight the evil from within the department. (b) Today there is a great demand of honest and efficient people in the private sector particularly in the field of banking, insurance, risk assessment, venture capital and so on. A whistleblower, by his very position, is not only honest but is also very efficient. If this attribute can be projected before the potential employers, whistleblowers can be provided with fitting placements. For this a list of potential job outlets shall have to be identified. 5. CONCLUSION: I would therefore request everyone for the following: a) To help identify whistleblowers of proven credentials so as to build up a database. b) To help identify placements suitable to them. c) To create awareness among potential employers, the advantages of having honest and efficient officers at pivotal and sensitive positions.
