From: Regi P George <george_regi@yahoo.com> Date: Wed Dec 29, 2004 10:26pm Subject: Re: Sex And CPM In Latest "Kairali" Episode ???Afterall, it was one of the numerous items appearing in Kerala newspapers on various sex scandal issues rocking Kerala.??? Sex scandal issues rocking in Kerala??™s newspapers; but, that is not reported by New Indian Express news team to this group and a susceptible mum on such issues they kept until now. But a Gossip about Kairali TV become more attractive which is produced and promoted by Manorama and New Indain Express why? In your reply and according to the news reported by such media it is evident that CPIM involvement is very clear. THEN WHY A GOVT. UNDER SRI OMMEN CHANDI WHO IS MUCH FAMOUS FOR HIS, AND HIS LEADER A.K. ANTONY??™S ANTI COMMUNIST AGENDA is not taking action against those CPM members and left leaders? It is quiet strange and nowhere else in this universe may be a Chief Minister demand to opposition leader to identify the VIP involved in the sex racket instead of using his police force to catch the criminal. ???The Marxist opposition leader V.S. Achuthanandan, publicly stated after visiting the 16years old under aged victim of sex business that the doctor of the hospital said to him that one VIP visited the girl at hospital and after that her condition is bad but the doctor did not reveal the name of the VIP who visited the hospital. The matter you reporting is showing more your interest in the problems related to the left and CPM than showing solidarity to the victim and the interest in bringing the criminals in front of judiciary and fighting against injustice. ???CPI-M leaders and cadres are not the proverbial Holy Cows??? All these statements just proving only your approach to CPIM not the interest to the subject you are talking. Or else why we are forced to discuss about CPM, its leaders and Kairali Channel instead of the Sex business, forceful use of under aged girls in Kerala by top politicians, Govt. Officials, Police Officers. Ministers : G. Karthikeyan, Sudhakaran, Kadavoor Sivadan, Kunjalikutty etc and many MLAs IAS Officers, Police force are accused or involved in sex scandals. Enthusiastically these are not issues to your newspaper and your interest in the Gossip in Kairali channel is a surprise to me really this might be the time to play the music in this burring Rome. NB : Industrial Minister of Kerala the prime accused in sex scandals notoriously known as ???Ice cream parlor case??? decided to resign. after protests organized by the opposition parties and specially its leader V.S. Achuthanandans strong leadership. regi CHROkeralam <chro1@r...> wrote: While taking complete responsibility for the item that we posted, I wonder what was the need for such a protest. Afterall, it was one of the numerous items appearing in Kerala newspapers on various sex scandal issues rocking Kerala. Also, CPI-M leaders and cadres are not the proverbial Holy Cows in these sex scandals. The present sex scandal involving the UDF Industries Minister, Kunjalikutty, first broke out in 1997 when CPM was in power. It was investigated by the police under their ruling dispensation, who exhonerated him. Ms. Meenakshi Thampan of CPI, who was then Chairperson of Legislative Committee on Women's Welfare, repeatedly said that the Marxist MLAs, including then Marxist Speaker, saved Kunjalikutty then. One can understand if at all the UDF Chief Minister tried to save the UDF Minister-culprit. But, what was the compulsion of the CPM comrades to save the same UDF culprit during their ruling period? They should at least reply to Ms. Thampan's charge at least now as a matter of explantion, if not self-criticism. In Kiliroor sex scandal, reports on the role of comrades are flying thick and high. The Marxist opposition leader, VS Achuthanandan, is in a pitiable condition for his inability to make public who exactly was the VIP, about whom he first exposed having been met the girl before her death. There are several other related issues, incidents and instances to prove that the CPI(M) is not a Holy Cow in Kerala politics -- as they are trying to project especially outside Kerala. Given below my recent letter in "Indian Express" which may help to understand another angle of the ongoing sex scandal fiasco in Kerala. -- MUKUNDAN C. MENON, CHRO, KERALA (Letters To The Editor) New Indian Express, December 23, 2004, Thursday Sex scandal status report Joy Eapen's letter (NIE, Dec. 20) says the present sex scandal involving a Minister is "only the second in the last 50 years in Kerala". It is wrong. The fact is that four other ministers in the present UDF dispensation faced similar charges after it came to power in May 2001. They are: Kadavur Sivadasan and G. Karthikeyan, whom one Thankam Verma from Pathanamthitta accused of sexually exploiting her at Thaicaud Government Guest House. Ganesh Kumar who was sworn-in as a UDF Minister was alleged to have mistreated his wife Dr. Yamini Thankachi due to the concubines he maintained in Thiruvananthapuram. The four Minister was K. Sudhakaran. A woman from Kannur alleged that she mothered his child out of wedlock. Also, her brother alleged that the Minister reacted by physically assaulting him. Unlike the orchestrated campaign now, none raised their voice against these four miniters. This silence was deafening. Mukundan C.
