The only way is to compell US to put it's request for requisite quantum of petrol barrels form Oil producing gulf/Islamic/nondemo./dictatorial/medieval/terrorist(?) countries/nations, the way the other nations all over do. These other nations including India, have never sold wars to these oil countries to claim a stake or cried harsh for claiming the oil fields owned by the gulf regions. They never said anything against Saddam or Bin Laden to undermine their nations. They buy its' fuel needs in open market in US $ . The London blasts took place precisely for the Britain put her nose in the forced attack by Bush of the oil nations when they preferred to nationalise their own natural resources. She behaved like a twin. The 9/11 attacks on US imperialsim received no sympathy except for those innocent victims. So has been the case with UK. The numerous news and volumes of views on The 7/7 London Blasts have failed to meet a single question ; Why Britain sent her Army to attack the Middle east nations along with US ? In fact Mr. Blair should provide an answer to his own nationals in the first place. It's high time all the democratic nations should support the middle east countries/nations in their democratisation process and make both the US and UK realise that globalisation in true sense means business and not wars. Moreover, the citizens of these well off nations should literally force their respective Govts. to keep from trying to force wars on other smaller countries under one or the other pretence because; 1. the imperilist nations attack and kill the innocent people in poor nations and in turn 2. The terrorist groups from these poor countries attack and kill innocent people from imperialist nations precisely by using the same weapons and plans sold to them by imp. nations. We like to honour your feelings and share the same with you about present the state of affair of University and want to draw your attention to the following matter of serious nature. For last 20 days, we the citizens of Baroda are greatly affected by water logging and are yet to come out of the trauma. Our campus itself was under water with crocodiles and snakes. We all know the extent of damages due to water logging inside campus. Students remained without water and light in hostels. Many are falling ill. We fear this flood has broken the economic backbone of poor people and peasants in the villages. Undoubtedly, it will affect the agricultural families, poor and middle class families. Though many students have taken admission, there will be dropout due to economic ruination. What is called for is to give immediate attention to rehabilitate them economically so that they can continue their studies. This is the prime time to act unitedly for the cause of the flood victims and that is what we, All India Democratic Students' Organisation is trying to do our best aligning with concerned people and students. We are rendering relief both in Baroda and in rural parts of Baroda district. A memorandum was also sent to the Prime Minister office for financial support to M.S.University. But we are shocked to come across the height of sectarianism, groupism and all out politicization of flood, which has left it's ugly mark in our M.S.University also. The situation that occurred in M.S.U is appalling, shocking and disturbing. But there is a general feeling that these incidents could have been avoided by postponing inauguration of renovated Arts faculty Dome. Keeping the current calamity in view, the inauguration of Dome could have been be deferred? Why the V.C. and university authority was in hurry? It could have been a happy and memorable and an occasion for all the MSUites and the education loving people if inauguration could have been a befitting one if postponed to a very suitable date, in view of this calamity. The hasty step of V.C raises many questions. He has forgotten that the MSU is one of the throbbing center of the city and the inhabitants are proud of the MSU. This very spirit of Barodians was seen during the fight against the Common University Act. But choosing the time of inauguration was a dishonour to the feeling of the people of Baroda, who were languishing due to flood.. It seems the V.C. is more interested to make this campus a playground of the ruling party. He has been creating provocative atmosphere by calling men in power than "men of letters" for Univerity programmes.. We think this very attitude of V.C. is vitiating the atmosphere. M.S.University has been appreciated by the entire world for its rich contribution to the field of knowledge. The Universities should be free from power politics and uphold the academic freedom and sanctity.It should not become the play house of the ruling parties. But we are constrained to say that the very action of the present V.C. very alarming. While the Hooliganism is to be condemned, at the same time the depth of discontent of the flood-affected is to be understood in proper perspective. It is a matter of great concern the way VC has aligned with BJP, ABVP AND RSS in his so-called Dharna. This single act gives a wrong signal about the sanctity of the campus. As you know that MSU does not belong to any particular political party. It was highly appalling to watch students ruthlessly beaten by police in front of the VC and the V.C. justifying the police atrocities. His utterances were like a despot than a teacher. The media has been always playing excellent role for our University. But the V.C. did not spare to hurl words against the Press and media, which is condemnable too. This very action ofDr. Manoj Soni is not going to help the sanctity of MSU but will make it a battleground of vested interest of ruling parties, which will jeopardize academic activities. So, we want your immediate intervention in this matter.
