This note (Indian Languages August 2005) is on using
Roman lipi (script), if current script software is absent.
Linear Roman suits phonebooks, internet etc. Marathi
is considered here. Use its method for others with due
symbols. Circulate. See E04(12 to 26)E03 M12 M11
in www.mngogate.com Author mngogate@...
Explanation in English follows the Example in Marathi.
-------------------------------------------------------
Example -- maraave pari kirtirupe uraave... he yogya
aahe... tyaashivaay he lakshaat asude ki maraave pari
pret-rupe disaave... saat varshe geli ki mag bepattaa
vyakti mrut samj'aavi asaa kaaydaa aahe... toparyant
vimaa va anya kaame rakhad'taat... mi Phone kelaa va
Police aale... mi tyaannaa Thanks dile... mit'h mhan'je
Sodium Chloride rasaayan. (abhang ) j'e kaa ranj'ale
gaanj'ale... tyaansi mhan'e j'o aapule... tochi saadhu
ol'akhaavaa... dev tethechi j'aan'aavaa.- sant Tukaram.
----
Current Marathi script is not dual like Roman a-z A-Z
Write Marathi (also English words used in Marathi) as
per Marathi people's perception (phon, polis, thaenks
in above example). But people may not respell names,
and initially may not be sure of respelling. Use capitals
to start such words (Phone, Police, Thanks) as above.
Retain technical spellings like (Sodium Chloride) with
capital starters or one may respell (sod'iyam kloraaid')
At times, people say & write in Marathi script English
words (thaenks) etc, instead of local (dhanyavaad) etc.
English words should be respelled, while adding any
Marathi suffixes. Thus Police + aanchi = polisaanchi
Read Marathi word (he) as (he-help). Follow sounds
and write (sarkaar), not as Marathi script (sarakaara).
----
Use no capitals as sentence-starters and as substitutes
(A D N) for (aa, d' n') etc. Separate sentences with 3
dots in a para. One dot to end a para / single sentence.
Capitals caution readers about non-standard spellings.
----
Key a (u-up) aa (a-art) ae (a-at) ao (aw-law) e (egg)
i (his) o (ok) u (u-pull ) rhasva = dirgha ( lipi = lipee)
d (th-they) d' (d-dog) likewise (t t' n n' l l' ) v (w-win)
j (jam) j' (s-his) likewise (ch ch') (jh z) Details in M12
Use (ae, ao) absent in original Marathi, for few English
words. All English-serving machines can serve Marathi

Save this note for future e-mails in Marathi. Thank You

Subject: Police Brutality In Gurgaon

The two articles below reveal the significance of Gurgaon to the ruling class as reflected in the steps taken by their trusted parties and lieutenants.

Zee news had also carried a story of how Lathaits were being used by ' parties' to make the bandh call successful ? -- Can these lathaits equal the fire power of the State ? Then in whose interests were the Lathaits ? Who were those who initiated violence on the police prompting the later crack down. Wherefrom Unions are getting money to pay for lathaits ?

As everyone knows, the call for strike was given after Honda was deceiving the workers for the last 6 months retrenching 3000 of them. While the protestors have been jailed lathicharged etc, Kamal Nath and co are busy placating the Japanese. After all the interests of a few workers can be sacrificed at the altar of FDI in the name of development of this country .

Gurgaon incident won't impact FDI flow : Nath

The Union government got its act together on day three of the Gurgaon- Honda crisis and began a damage control exercise on likely adverse impact of the incident on foreign investment flows .

The Manmohan Singh government is confident that the foreign investment flows would double to cross the US $ 8 billion mark during the fiscal as against $ 3.75 billion achieved in 2004-2005.

The PMO and External affairs Ministry were busy on Wednesday dealing with Left parties and Japanese establishments to allay any fears of foreign investors , especially Japanese companies.

Commerce and Industry Minister kamal nath , meanwhile described the clash between Gurgaon police and Honda employees as an isolated and local incident that would not shake investors confidence.

' We do not believe that it is a pattern . This an unfortunate isolated and freak incident , and should not be politicised it will not in any way affect investors confidence ' Kamal Nath said.

----

In a related development , kamal Nath hinted that labour reforms would be ushered in to ensure creation of additional employment opportunities apart from protecting the existing jobs.

He said that owing to rigidity in labour laws , Inida was losing out on jobs that were seasonal and temporary . Kamal Nath hinted that the government was mulling over the policy prescription that would ensure additional jobs even if they were of seasonal nature.

Tokyo needn??™t worry, it will never happen in Bengal: CPM govt

FDI: Bengal No 1 in Japan FDI; Industries Minister Nirupam Sen says, ???Japanese have very good track record in industrial relations??™

SUBRATA NAGCHOUDHURY

KOLKATA, JULY 26: While Left leaders in New Delhi have rushed in to milk the Gurgaon violence, slam Japanese firm Honda and have even used it to question the ??????course of liberalisation,??™??™ their comrades in West Bengal, the bastion of trade unionism, have struck just the opposite note.

They have reason to: West Bengal ranks No 1 among all states as a destination for Japanese FDI.

Speaking to The Indian Express late tonight, West Bengal Commerce and Industries Minister and CPM central committee member Nirupam Sen said he would do his best to ??????dispel Japanese fears.??™??™

For a rattled Japanese Ambassador Y Enoki, who today said that the incident and its fallout could cast a shadow over India as an FDI destination, Sen??™s words would come as some comfort.

??????They (the Japanese) need not worry. I am sure that what has happened in Gurgaon will never happen in West Bengal. The Japanese have an altogether different experience in West Bengal,??? said Sen, considered the No 2 man in the state Cabinet next to Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.

??????The Japanese have a very good and positive experience in West Bengal, they have a very good track record here in industrial relations,??? Sen added.

The Minister underlined the example of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation whose investments in a Purified Terephthalic Acid project in Haldia have been to the tune of over Rs 2000 crore.

??????The Japanese experience has been exemplary in the Haldia project. It commenced production not only before the target date but not a single man day has been lost. It also started production well ahead of schedule and has started making profits,??? Sen said.

Asked whether the Gurgaon incident would affect Tokyo-Kolkata trade relations, Sen said: ??????As far as West Bengal is concerned, I don??™t see any change in that relation.??™??™

???No reason why this
will be upset??™

??? Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation??™s Rs 2000 crore in Haldia project. Began production ahead of schedule, not one man day lost, has started making profits
??? JBIC Bank??™s Rs 400-cr loans for infrastructure.
??? Japanese are helping to build crucial bridge connecting Haldia with Kolkata
??? Japanese assistance to state government for light railway transit system in Kolkata and the suburbs.

Sen said that several projects are on stream involving the Japanese government and the West Bengal government:

??? The Japanese JBIC Bank has provided loans to the tune of almost Rs 400 crore to the state government for infrastructure development.

??? Decks have been cleared for the construction of a crucial bridge at Kukrahati that will connect Haldia with Kolkata with entirely Japanese assistance.

??? The state is also working on getting Japanese assistance, beginning with the feasibility report, for an overhead ??????light railway transit system??™??™ in Kolkata and the suburbs.

??????There is no reason whatsoever that any of these projects will be upset,??™??™ said Sen.

Chief Minister Bhattacharjee, who could not be contacted during the day, has been extremely bullish about Japanese involvement in the state. In several public fora and investors??™ meetings, he has used the fact that West Bengal gets the most Japanese FDI as one key example of why the state is an attractive investment destination.

Subject: Talking Point

Yesterday, Sunday; is my day to enjoy the debates on BBC & CNN & NDTV..
Some times outraged, sometimes humoured by the logic displayed; but always interested in the topics & its impeccable presentation..

Yesterday's Talking Point on BBC & the discussion on CNN > Mr Wolf, in the Chair; jolted me out of my somnambulance.

At first I tried phoning the Toll free # , but being toll free it was constantly engaged; may be to prevent being inundated by calls such as mine, may be to keep the phone bills down.

I had no alternate but to dash of an eMail, which kindly allow me to reproduce, > below *.

By now everyone in this part of the World has read or heard what Prez Gen. Parvez Musharaff has said about "free speech" in the UK.

The Brits do sermonise a bit too much, some times;

* The invasion of Iraq & occupation of Palestine is NOT the main cause for terrorism, it is a myth propagated by the Terrorist & their CONTROLLERS.

Here in India we have been suffering from terror for years & on a regular basis > if not on a daily basis, once or twice a week.

India hasn't invaded Iraq or occupied Palestine or any one else, your panellists do not explain why we suffer terrorists.

Fact is :
1. Terror is an on going WAR for global Islamic dominance to rid the World of " decadent & Corrupt non islamic cultures - especially western culture - to be replaced by " the pure " (but barbaric) islamic culture.
SIMPLE, PERIOD !
The earlier this is understood the lesser the pussy footing & delusions of . . . . .

2. UK is finding out the hard way, if the Terrorists, their sympathisers & supporters are in minority or not ????? >>> DELUSIONS II
My sympathise !

Thanks for your time

Best Wishes

Coke??™s New Jingle

We asked supporters to create a new jingle for Coca-Cola that portrays Coke for what it really is. Here??™s Coke??™s ad that G. Love sings:
"I'd like to teach the world to chill,
take time to stop and smile
I'd like to buy the world a Coke
and chill with it awhile
And Here??™s one submitted by Campaign supporter Rock Salomon:
I'd like to buy the world a Coke
And start another trend
I'll drink my cool refreshing Coke
while burying my friends
I'd like to hide the evidence
where decent folks can't see
then sell my soul to Father Greed
and keep it company
That's the song I sing
And I'm not alone
Coke's bold Dynamic Ribbon Device
carved on another stone
So when you pop another Coke
and pour it over ice
You paid to quench another thirst
while others paid with lives
