[1] From: "Aditya Mishra" <hindu.skeptic@gmail.com> Date: Tue Jan 10, 2006 Subject: Re: [indiathinkersnet] Outlook and Indian Express review of "India Stinking" I don't know which India you are talking about. Most people in India do not even have an indoor toilet and do not condemn any one to anything. If you travel by train any where in India in the morning, the most memorable spectacle is the row of men and women relieving themselves without any need of any person of any caste. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shiva Shankar" <sshankar@...> Sent: Monday, January 09, 2006 Subject: [indiathinkersnet] Outlook and Indian Express review of "India Stinking" > Subject: Outlook and Indian Express review of "India Stinking", > > KANCHA ILAIAH, *Outlook*, 16 January 2005 > > Instead of creating a technology to remove human excreta from houses, the > pandits took the easy way out by condemning a particular caste to do the > job. The first problem of India is overpopulation regardless of the sex of the fetus. It is only the rich who can afford the sex predermintation and they have very few children anyway. We should try to cut down the irresponsible breeding by the poor and superstitious. I admire China for their one child policy which should be adopted in India too otherwise India will never be able to progress. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Khalid Azam" <khalidazam@...> > At least 10 million female foetuses have > been aborted in India over the past two decades by middle-class families > determined to ensure they have male heirs. > The figure is revealed > by a survey of more than a million homes published today which found that > sex determination in pregnancy and selective abortion accounted for > 500,000 missing girls each year. --------------------------------- [3] From: Sukla Sen <suklasen@yahoo.com> Date: Tue Jan 10, 2006 Subject: Alarming Developments in West Asia: Interview with Michel Chossudovsky From: Prof J G Krishnayya [mailto:sri@...] Interview with Michel Chossudovsky - Jan. 2, 2006 - Monday Brownbagger Programme, Co-op radio, CFRO 102.7 FM, Vancouver, B.C., Canada Interviewer: Don Nordin Guest: Michel Chossudovsky I have on the line today Michel Chossudovsky, see http:// http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michel_Chossudovsky and http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/ONE311A.html. Eid Mubarak - Blessing of the Festival (Pronounciation: Eid like eel, eed. "The Bush administration is preparing its NATO allies for a possible military strike against suspected nuclear sites in Iran in the New Year, according to German media reports, reinforcing similar earlier suggestions in the Turkish media," reported UPI on December 30th. An examination of the ramifications of such an attack is desperately in order. ----------------------------------------------------------- Eliot Weinberger | What I Heard about Iraq in 2005 http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/010906O.shtml Eliot Weinberger writes: In 2005, I heard that Coalition forces were camped in the ruins of Babylon. I heard that bulldozers had dug trenches through the site and cleared areas for helicopter landing pads and parking lots, that thousands of sandbags had been filled with dirt and archaeological fragments, that a 2600-year-old brick pavement had been crushed by tanks, and that the moulded bricks of dragons had been gouged out from the Ishtar Gate by soldiers collecting souvenirs. --------------------------------------- [6] From: rkurian Date: Tue Jan 10, 2006 Subject: Eid Mubarak!
