Sri Raman t r u t h o u t | Perspective Wednesday 24 May 2006 -------------- [2] From: Logically Genius <gurudatta_raut-socialengineer@yahoo.co.in> Date: Thu May 25, 2006 Subject: Reservations: Red Alert for Investors and How to deal with it Dear Investors of India, Thoes of U outside India were already wise to wipe out billions of dollars from Indian markets in a week just after announcement of Reservations. Thanks but thats not enough for the India goverment to feel the heat. Please take out all the money and make a clean slate of India. There is no future for returns on the money here, now that we are gona be an incompetent nation. Soon there will be reservation in Private sector and anywhere possible. I also urge all the rich Indians to follow example of Laxhumi Mittal, run out of India to restart your businesses without any reservations there. We will soon apply for jobs at your place. And yes, dont forget the injustice of SC/ST/OBC on U, so employ only the unReserved Indians. Please have mercy on us, help us, save us.? Now we will have to feed billions of dollars to Foreign universities to get admissions, its a shame for this money could have been used to teach the poor and needy Indians. - Saint Scientist FORWARD THIS MAIL TO EVERY UNRESERVED RICH INDIAN ----------------- [3] From: <jitu11in@yahoo.com> Date: Thu May 25, 2006 Subject: Fwd: [MAP_INDIA] Are these protesting doctors really patriots?? --- Harsh Agarwal <harsh1926@yahoo.com> wrote: > To: map_india@yahoogroups.com > From: Harsh Agarwal <harsh1926@yahoo.com> > Date: Wed, 24 May 2006 11:44:27 -0700 (PDT) > Subject: [MAP_INDIA] Are these protesting doctors > really patriots?? > I am really very happy to see youth of India uniting for this noble cause and are coming together to fight for the nation I feel even if 100% seats are given to OBCs it would never change their community as 20,000 seat's can't bring a change in the massive population of over 50 crore and when their population is rising every year by 20 lakhs the policy of reservation is just ridiculous even in 10 thousand years there wont be any change in their community. But this time we don't have to get back to pursue our individual goals after the agitation is over as what happened in 1990 after Mandal 1. Actually the whole problem has emerged due to our ignorance and it is too late to blame our politicians because politics has completely proliferated in our country even our educational institutions as well. If we still dont wake up and leave our personal goals and aspirations without contributing a bit for our nation the worst is waiting to happen for India. In the last 57 years since independence there has been a massive brain drain even when there was 77% seats for the open merit the meritorious students never thought about the country and ran away abroad after studying in prestigious institutions like IITs, IISc, IIMs, AIIMs to name a few. Statics tells that so far millions of meritorious Indians have gone abroad after studying in such prestigious institutions and are working for research projects for foreign countries. If they are unable to gain foreign access then they look for high paying jobs in MNCs. We never think that after studying in these institutions where poor India spends so much money, who is the ultimate gainer and who is the ultimate loser. Of course the ultimate loser is poor India. The phenomenon of brain drain is often advocated by saying that it brings lot of foreign exchange but we dont see that the foreign exchange brought by NRI deposits is still very meager. Still the country depends on agricultural export which accounts for the 70 % of the total foreign exchange earned and much of the hard earned foreign exchange goes in paying for importing technology from the foreign country which our own Indians make in foreign countries after studying in IITs or IISc. Today out of 6000 patents only 1 patent comes from India after GATT and WTO agreements the technology import is going to be very very expensive and if youth in India still doesn't wakes up then 2020 will be Evan worst than 2006 mandal. Why don't the meritorious youth go and work in government sectors and bring a real change for India. When there is an option between NASA and ISRO the choice is NASA, when choice is between GE and BHEL then its always GE, when it is between HUTCH and MTNL then always HUTCH. why is it so?? because everyone is thinking about making his own life prosperous and forget about the masses and the country we forget that government is the pillar on which the country stands and if the government institutions will become weak then the country will obviously become weak. I always feel that these prestigious institutions should be immediately made reservation free and all the seats should be reserved for the government sector jobs and those who wants to study should work for the country for at least 10 years then only our country will grow otherwise even if we win this mandal battle and the general category gets 77 % seats for open merit and the meritorious students continue to run away abroad then worst is waiting to happen. We have still not realised the implications of GATT and WTO agreements of late 90s. had we woken up earlier we wouldn't have seen this day. We have to first of all take part in elections and excercise our voting right whcih most of the upper caste people don't do secondly have to work hard to reduce our populatio, thirdly we need more youth to come forward and devote some years of their life for the cause of the nation and stop this brain drain immediately otherwise even if we get 100% seats for the general category the country will never improve, only foreign countries and MNCs will make money at the cost of Indian government's money. If the youth in India wants to study in IITs, IISc, IIMs etc just to work in MNCs or go abroad then I will never say that this protest is for the betterment of the country. Harsh Agawral Founder CURE ( Coalition to Uproot Ragging from Education) www.noragging.com My full supprot is with you but the youth has to make a promise that they have to work for the upliftment of the country and not only for money after studying in such prestigious institutions. In such Forums if the politicians are kept away or at bay more things can be wrought, than by prayers. The neta, any neta; can't get over the temptation to score brownies. Secondly a neta out of sheer habit will stir up a storm in a tea cup, instead of amity we'll have acrimony, the last thing in Indo-Pak relations we want. So to the netas & babus thanks but NOthanks.
