A letter to Editor: The Editor The Hindu thehindu@vsnl.com Dear Mr. Editor, I am writing with reference to the article by Mr. C. Rammanohar Reddy in his article ???Gandhi: An apostle of violence? -- A "distortion" of the Mahatma's writings???? in the Magazine section of your October 26, 2003, publication. Is Gandhi??™s article, which is the subject of discussion of Mr. Reddy??™s article, much bigger than an average newspaper article? I have a hunch, it??™s not. If that is true, I think Mr. Reddy may be somewhat disingenuous. Instead of going through so many hoops to argue his point of view, why doesn??™t he simply reproduce the whole article in question and let people come to their own conclusions. I don??™t mind the author drawing his own conclusions, but before or after getting us to read his conclusions, he could have simply reproduced the whole article in question written by Gandhi. Perhaps you may still do the same, i.e., publish Gandhi??™s article in question.
