Tis honestly the case with many temples and shrines. Its the only way they earn any revenue. So it indeed helps if the temple is famous and well known.
Like quite a few in Daegu and the surrounding areas.
Daegu is known as the home of buddhism in Korea.
The two biggest temples are the Dongwha and Pagye temples.
Pagye is an incredibly gorgeous place indeed. Its architecture is very much based on the chinese temple styles, Yet it still has the feel of many authentic Korean temples, namely those in Seoul. You can dong the bell, buy a souvenir or indeed relax in quiet serenity.

Dongwha-sa is also a picture of fairly distinctive Korean Architecture. It also has a very interesting history. You can see more here

Eonjeok-sa is also a temple with a long history.... over 1000 years to be exact ! You will find this temple in the Apsan area of Daegu !
