The First Personal Appearance for Winery Adventures
Introducing wine glass charms to future brides at local bridal expo
Since we are not traveling during the winter months, we took the opportunity to attend a local bridal expo to show-off some of the wine charms that are offered on the Winery Adventures website. Brides-to-be were very interested in the bridal-party charms as well as the wedding favors we were showcasing at the event. Donned in our new Winery Adventures t-shirts, we set-up our booth and spoke to many people for several hours about charms, about wine, and invited them to visit our website. Since there our no wineries in our area, most people in our hometown are not familiar with the website and we felt it was a wonderful way to introduce ourselves. Pictured: Sharon, Morgan (Sharon's son) and Gary pose for a photo before the doors open at the bridal expo.

Where we're headed:

On The Road Again in March!
March 29, 2008 we will be visiting the following wineries:

Al-Bi Winery - Dellroy, OH
Raven's Glenn Winery - West Lafayette, OH
Terra Cotta Vineyards - New Concord, OH

Upcoming Adventures:
Late April: Two Indianapolis area wineries and a visit to one of the city's wine bars

Book Helps Navigate the World of Wine

(NewsUSA) - Serious wine connoisseurs can make wine seem intimidating, but Ed McCarthy and Mary Ewing-Mulligan, the authors of "Wine For Dummies" (Wiley, $21.99), say wine can be appreciated by everyone.

The fourth edition of the guide, which is part of the popular "For Dummies" series, provides updates on wineries both new and old and where they stand in quality today. The book also contains up-to-date pricing information on the authors' favorite wines.

"Wine For Dummies" helps readers conquer the numerous grape varieties and wine regions of the world and shows them how to select the best wines for the best price. The book also exposes 10 "wine myths" (for example, just because a wine is expensive or old doesn't mean that it is good) and shares the secrets to understanding lists and labels; wine tasting and storing; and pairing wine with food.

"Wine For Dummies" is available in bookstores nationwide and through www.dummies.com.

February 2
Mardi Gras!

Sponsored by Sandhill Crane Vineyards at the Ella Sharp Museum in Jackson, Michigan

Mardi Gras! Saturday, February 2 - 6 to 11 pm. What do you do when your winter party outgrows your facilities? You move it to a bigger facility, of course. We are pleased to announce that we are teaming up with the Ella Sharp Museum for our annual Mardi Gras bash! We'll hold it in their beautiful new community room - with plenty of space for all! The party is scheduled for Saturday, February 2 (to avoid a conflict with the Super Bowl the next day) from 6 pm to 11 pm. Our favorite local Dixieland band, the French Quarter Dixieland Band will return, playing live New Orleans jazz from 7 to 10 pm. The party is the first in the 2008 "Taste For the Arts" series, a fundraiser for the museum. In addition to the winery and museum, the party is also sponsored by Amy and Steven Tripp and Stephanie and Matt Rosenberg. Admission includes a sampler plate (enough for a meal) with Cajun and Creole foods (think Cajun Gumbo, Muffaletta, Bananas Foster Bread Pudding, and Red Beans & Rice), 8 wine tasting tickets, Mardi Gras beads, and free entertainment. Additional wine will be for sale by the glass and by the bottle. The cost per person is $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Tickets are available by phone, through the mail, or in person at the winery and the museum. Call (517) 764-0679 for more information or to purchase tickets. The Ella Sharp Museum is located about 15 minutes SW of Sandhill Crane Vineyards at 3225 4th Street, Jackson.
