If you are a mom with a home based business, we would love to have you join our Smart Moms forum. Any moms are welcome, but the content is mostly related to working a home based business. Please refer anyone you know that would be interested. You can also visit the Smart Moms website for more home based business ideas and resources.

We have two newsletters!

Heartland Moms has two newsletters: one for local moms with local information (this one) and one for all moms, Moms In Touch. We are trying to have separate content for each newsletter so all moms can have a great resource. If you are interested in subscribing to Moms In Touch, please send a blank email to 24407@zinester.com.

Scholarship Available for Single Mom

If you are or know a single mom in Highlands County, Florida, attending college or vocational school, there is a $500 scholarship available for school expenses for the upcoming year. The scholarship is being offered by Helping Hearts and Hands, a local social service group of women dedicated to improving the lives of women and children in our county. The scholarship application is linked in Word format so it can be filled in and printed. Please email if you need a different format.

Scheduled Playgroups

We will be meeting in Lake Placid on Monday, May 7 at 9:00 am-11:00 am. We meet at the First Presbyterian Church. To get there, turn at the Gate Station (west) and turn left on Oak. The church is on the left and the playground is around the back. There is a bigger kid section, a baby/toddler section, and baby swings and regular swings. We hope you can make it even if you are not from Lake Placid!

Sebring Playgroup at Max Long, Monday, May 21, 9:00 - 11:00 am

This will be our last outside playgroup for the summer. We will be scheduling dates at the Children's Museum for the summer.

Maribel is coordinating a Mom's Day Away to the Mall at Milenia on April 21. Please contact her if you would like to attend.

Summer Playgroups

If you are interested in joining other moms with children that are similar in age to your child or children for a summer playgroup, please complete the information on the first page of website. We will be providing the information to those that are interested to coordinate your own times and locations. Since MOPS is not held during the summer, this will be a good time to socialize with other moms.

Website Information

Join our Google Group! Membership is opened to all moms, all over the world. Please fill out a membership request and you will be approved shortly. Thanks for your understanding and patience. We would love to have your input.

Heartland Moms is providing information for all moms, not just moms in the Heartland. Please invite your friends near and far to visit our website and forum.
