http://wahm.sitesell.com/smartmoms1.html Your Basic Cleaning Supplies List
By: O Quinn
There are just a few basics you need to have to clean most things in your home.
Print this off and use it to make your cleaning kit at home. Here are
some basics you might want to think about adding to your household
cleaning kit.
Cleaning Caddy - This will hold the majority of your products. Watch
any janitor or maid working and you see they have a cleaning caddy
holding all of their products. This makes it easier to not only move
around the room but move from room to room.
All Purpose Cleaner - A general cleaner for things like countertops, walls etc. Should cut grease and get dirt.
Cleanser - Also known as tile cleaner. May be liquid or powder. This depends on your preferences and your fixtures.
Disinfectant - This is mainly for the bathroom. This would be use to clean the outside areas of the toilet, sink, and tub.
Glass and Surface Cleaner - To clean your windows, appliances, and mirrors.
Mop (Microfiber is my choice) - My mop actually has several removable
heads. It has dust mop, microfiber scrubbing head, microfiber dry mop,
regular loop mop.
Duster - Lambswool and or ostrich feathers. Actually those disposable
microfiber dusters are great. My toddler loves to help me dust with
those.
Broom with dust pan - An angled broom gets the floor good. To make it easy on your back get a dust pan with a long handle.
Rubber Gloves - Your hands will love you.
Toilet brush with it’s own caddy - We like to keep this thing separate
from all of our other cleaners. It’s an area that has to be cleaned so
might as well make it feel special.
Toothbrush - When you replace yours just hang on to the old one and use
it for getting around the sink faucets and other hard to reach areas
Bucket - You will need this for mopping.
Vacuum - I opted for a bagged vacuum with a HEPA filter but there are
many good ones on the market. Do your research, talk to friends,
family. I also have a handheld for small jobs.
Microfiber towels - Microfiber cleaning cloths are great. They have a
little scrubbing action so many times, unless you need to remove grease
or disinfect, they don’t need cleaners. Don’t wash with bleach or
fabric softener.
Terry cloth towels - I also like my terry cloths. When I need to use a
bleach product or I just want a good old fashioned terry towel.
You will find yourself tweaking this list for your own kit to accomadate your home and life.
