Winter is just around the corner for those of us in the northern hemisphere and it really starting to look and feel like it in the west of Ireland. Since the clocks have changed it now gets dark around 5pm, there are more leaves on the ground than on the trees and we??™ve had our first frost. Fortunately it??™s been dry for almost a full week now so I??™ve actually been able to mow the lawn. Before this week it seemed to have rained at least once a day for the last month or more, but perhaps I??™m exaggerating and it just felt like that.

This weeks Tip takes up where we left off last time and offers some ideas on how to get what you really want.

Our guest article this week is a about a truly fascinating book called Success Engineering by Phil Gosling. Phil is a nuclear physicist who spent the best part of 20 years using his scientific background and knowledge to research human achievement and success. He was fascinated with the everything relating to the subject. Why, for example, can two people with similar backgrounds, even if given identical opportunities, end up with such different results? He also met and studied thousands of individuals as part of his exhaustive research, which ultimately led him to some incredible conclusions.

I??™ve read Success Engineering, and it makes for extremely thought provoking, and quite revolutionary reading. I can certainly recommend it to anyone serious about success and achievement. Even reading the two free chapters Phil offers will be a great eye opener.

I do hope you enjoy this issue and welcome your feedback, so feel free to email with your comments or suggestions.

Very best wishes for your success and happiness!

Garry

2) HOW TO GET WHAT YOU REALLY WANT!

In our last issue we talked about some easy ways to work out what you really want to achieve in your life and how to set goals. In case you missed it, you can read it in full here.

It is one things to set goals, but what can be done to make sure they are achieved? Here are some simple steps that can help.

The first thing you can do is to add as much detail as possible to each of your goals. You must have an extremely clear idea of exactly what you want in every area of your life and for every goal you have decided you want to achieve. This is where you turn vague generalities into clear pictures.

There??™s no point having a new car as a goal, that??™s way too vague to be of any use. What sort of car, make and model? What colour will it be and what extras will it have?

Add emotion to your goals ??“ how will it feel to sit in your new car and drive it? What will it sound and smell like? If one of your goals is to lose weight and get fit, how will it feel to easily fit into a smaller size, and to look in the mirror and see yourself (and for others to see you) looking slim and fit?

Clearly visualize your goals as if they are already achieved. The more clearly you can see all your goals and the more emotion you can include, the more they will inspire you to take the actions you need to take to achieve them.

Clearly focusing on your goals, visualising and emotionalizing them, also puts forces in motion and brings about circumstance that help draw them to you - and vice versa.

You should also ask yourself if your goals are actually realistic and attainable. If at the moment you are heavily in debt and don??™t know how you are going to pay your next bill, a goal of having a million dollars in the bank by the end of the month isn??™t realistic or attainable, unless you win the lottery or are blessed with some other equally improbable miracle.

Many people have come from debt or extreme poverty to become millionaires, so this goal, like almost anything, is certainly attainable. Anyone can achieve any goal they set for themselves if they are fully committed and prepared to do what whatever it takes. However, workable plans with realistic time frames need to be put in place. Most things don't happen overnight and have to be taken one step at a time.

For whatever goal you have set for yourself you also need be able to measure your progress. This not only tells you how you are doing, but also allows you to make corrections or change your course of action, or if necessary, make adjustments to your goals. Without being able to measure our progress towards our goals, we won??™t know how we??™re doing. For example, if you have a goal of losing 20 pounds in the next 3 months and have put a plan in place to achieve this goal, there??™s not much point in waiting for 2 1/2 months before you weigh yourself. By then it will be too l ate to make any changes to your plans that could have ensured the successful achievement of your goal.

Your goals and plans shouldn??™t be set in stone, you need to be prepared to make adjustments, or even to change goals completely according to altered circumstances or priorities.

Some of your goals should definitely relate to character traits. There is little point setting a goal to save half your salary every week if you know that you can??™t stop yourself from spending most of what you earn. You are unlikely to succeed and are probably setting yourself up for disappointment. In this case, one of your goals should be to develop self discipline. Similarly, a very shy person is unlikely to succeed in reaching a goal to become a stand up comedian without also setting a goal to increase their confidence and self belief.

Most people will need to develop and increase their existing skills, and will often need to learn new skills to reach their goals. Strong self belief is an essential skill to develop, because if you don??™t believe deep down that you can reach your goals and achieve anything that you set your mind to, it??™s highly unlikely you will succeed.

As these are your goals they all must start with ???I??? and they must be written down and worded in the present tense, as if you already own the object or possess the character trait you are working towards. They also must also be worded in the positive, ie about things or character traits you want, rather than what you don??™t want.

For example, write ???I am confident and at ease in any situation???, and definitely not ???I am no longer shy with people???

Ideally you should regularly repeat these goals, and add emotion by visualizing how each will make you feel, and you must firmly believe you will achieve them. This sends powerful messages to your subconscious mind and it will set about helping you to make them happen. It will also help you to formulate the plans and take the actions to make sure that your goals don??™t just remain as dreams.

As long as you your goals are in harmony with to your values and you totally believe that you will achieve them, your subconscious mind also will connect you to powers in the universe, that can??™t be rationally explained, that will make things happen that will help you.

Now decide which of these goals is the most important of all to you. This is often a goal that will help you achieve more of your other goals and would make the most positive impact on your life. This should be something that excites you and makes you happy just thinking about it. Make a list of the steps you will have to take to achieve this goal that immediately come to mind.

Next, consider everything already mentioned and ask yourself two questions.

Firstly: Am I fully committed and prepared to pay the price and do whatever it takes to achieve this goal? If the answer is no, this goal can't really be as important to you as you thought it was and probably needs rethinking.

If the answer is yes, then ask yourself: What action, however small, can I take RIGHT NOW towards this goal?

When you??™ve decided the first step, TAKE IT IMMEDIATELY! There will be something that you can do right now that will move you nearer to your major goal, however small it is. Don??™t put it off! Taking action builds momentum and builds your self belief, confidence and determination. Taking action will get you moving in the direction of your goals and when you start moving, resolve to keep going - then things will really start to happen!

3) GUEST ARTICLE

SUCCESS-ENGINEERING by PHIL GOSLING

Hi, my name is Phil Gosling and in the next few minutes I'm going to show you exactly how to achieve all those things you've ever wanted, like cash in the bank, a nice car, and a simple, romantic, trouble-free life. I'm going to prove to you why it hasn't worked for you so far, and how you can quite literally change your present life around by doing something very simple, and very extraordinary.

This has nothing to do with changing yourself, as all the other books you've read expect you to do. This is about changing the world around you in ways that very few people understand fully.

And I'm not just some smuck who's seen a new angle. This has come about because I made it work brilliantly in my own life and I wanted to know why it worked. I've spoken, contacted and otherwise communicated with over 10,000 people over the last 10-15 years, all the time checking out why some of these people seemed to do better than others. I wanted to know why when I gave two people a money-making idea, one ran with it and did well, and the other just asked a thousand extra questions and still got nowhere. I wanted to know the mechanism that allowed some people to grow money-trees from nothing, while others, given good earth and seed, saw all their efforts wither and die.

And I found out.

It has nothing to do with education, luck, race, color or anything like that. Million aires have risen with nothing but disadvantages and still succeeded. There are university professors with more knowledge in their little fingers than I have in my whole body, yet who drive very cheap cars. I drive very nice cars.

There IS a secret, and it is a secret that ALL successful people, knowingly or unknowingly, use every day.

I've put everthing I discovered into my new book, Success Engineering and in this book you can find out:

??? How the notion of "attracting" things into your life is wrong. What really happens will astound you.

??? Why well-meaning experts have accidentally given you only half the story.

??? Why modern goal setting and self improvement techniques have a major flaw.

??? PROOF, with examples you can try yourself, that YOU can change the very course of nature and your future, in minutes!

??? Why you'll never worry about parking (or money) ever again!

??? Why money isn't a goal.

??? Why "To be financially independent" isn't a goal.

??? Why you should never put a completion date on a goal.

??? How to really find your true soul-mate.

??? Why millions of dollars are being spent by major governments making the impossible become real, and how that same technology allows YOU to achieve "the impossible" in your life, right now.

The POWER of SUCCESS is yours to take Get this right, and the income you now enjoy, the lifestyle you currently have, the car you drive, is NOTHING in comparison to what you could have if you knew how the process of 'success' really worked.

You can even have the first 2 chapters of my book FREE OF CHARGE so you can find out more about what my amazing discoveries can do for your life!

Author, publisher and seminar speaker, Phil Gosling started as a nuclear physicist before creating several successful businesses. He now concentrates exclusively on writing self-help and home business books.
