January 18, 2005
Hey everybody! This is your good buddy Chris from Punchline delivering you The Weekly Dish. I like writing news, especially witty news. Before I do that though, I have to warn you...don't see "Open Water". That movie sucks.

Punchline
With all this excitement, we figured we should put a new song up on PureVolume.com/Punchline that we recorded a while back. It??s called "Changing Lanes.??? It??s a pretty freakin?? happy song. Probably our happiest ever. We will also be headed back to the studio ASAP to record some more songs to let you guys hear (just in case you're worried that the current events are going to affect us whatsoever...don't be.) We are going on tour in February with Hidden In Plain View and Hellogoodbye, then going to Japan in March. Japan is the best place ever. Last time we were there, I had too much fun. Lucky for me, Pete Wentz had his videocamera there to capture me having too much fun and then put it on his new upcoming DVD. Hope you guys like watching me puke! 01.21 Rochester, NY @ Water Street Music Hall 01.23 Cleveland, OH @ Agora Ballroom 01.26 Charleroi, PA @ The Italian Club purevolume.com/punchline myspace.com/punchline The Fueled By Ramen & Friends Tour 2005
Fall Out Boy, The Academy Is and Gym Class Heroes will be touring with Midtown and Silverstein starting March 10th. I have never met him, but I hear Silverstein is a sweet dude. Weinberg told me he was. The tour is 7 weeks long. That's 49 days (you're welcome for the math). Tickets are on sale now at this site. You should get one because this is an awesome tour. If you're wondering why we aren't on it, it is because it was unanimous in decision that we are just too good for it.

The Academy Is??¦ has a new song up for streaming today. It??s called ???Black Mamba.??? You should listen to it and pretend you are the singer for them while you sing into a brush and dance in the mirror. I actually do that all the time. I used to always do that to Rage Against The Machine when I was younger. Who am I kidding, I would still do that to Rage Against the Machine now. I love that song "Freedom". Check them out at www.rageagainstthemach...oh wait, got a little off subject there. The Academy Is??¦'s new CD "Almost Here" is available for preorder now. Preorder it now. And go see them on tour with Something Corporate and Straylight Run. That show would be better than a Rage Against the Machine show. Actually, it would be sweet if Rage was on that tour, too. I wonder if they're doing any of
the dates.

The Gym Class Heroes know what's up. You wanna know why? Because the one dude wears a Jerome Bettis jersey in their pictures. That's The Bus! Anyone who likes the Steelers is automatically cool. Not to mention they are really good. I just asked whether to call them a rap group or hip hop. These guys said hip hop. I like both anyway. In fact, I like all music, even some country lately. "I went skydiving, I went rocky mountain climbing, I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named fu manchu..."
Well anyway, you can preorder the Gym Class Heroes CD "The Papercut Chronicles" starting next Tuesday. BONUS: if you order it here with The Academy Is??¦'s new CD, you save 4 dollars and get it a week early. You can use that 4 dollars to buy 2 pomegrantes. Or donate it to charity. Don't buy drugs with it. Gym Class Heroes are on tour with June and Zolof the Rock n Roll Destroyer. We are also doing a few of those shows. I will enjoy that. I like shows. I like that we are in the song business. All us FBR bands are in the song business. 01.18 Hoboken, NJ @ Maxwell??s 01.19 Boundbrook, NJ @ Hamilton Street Cafe 01.21 Rochester, NY @ Water Street Music Hall 01.22 Columbus, OH @ Scarlet & Grey Cafe 01.23 Cleveland, OH @ Agora Ballroom 01.24 Bowling Green, OH @ Howard??s 01.25 Detroit, MI @ The Shelter 01.29 St. Louis, MO @ Creepy Crawl 01.31 Kansas City, MO @ El Torreon purevolume.com/gymclassheroes myspace.com/gymclassheroes The A.K.A.s
The A.K.A.s are on tour right now with The Kinison and Scatter the Ashes. The A.K.A.s are so freakin?? cool and nice. I get a little intimidated by their coolness. I have never heard The Kinison, but any band named after Sam Kinison has to be awesome, and also has to be real funny.

FOB starts their UK tour a month from tomorrow with Spitalfield. They are headlining the Fueled By Ramen & Friends Tour from March to May...I am reiterating that because I already said it up there higher on the page. I hate it when I repeat myself. I do that sometimes. I haven't seen the dudes in FOB in a while. I miss them. I'd like to hear Pete say "duuuuuude", listen to Patrick talk about a band I've never heard of before, watch Andy get his back scratched, and watch Joe build a model plane. I miss the good old days. I heard they have a new song called "Understanding Chemistry Is Not Feasible In The Winter Because I Am Undergoing Metamorphosis That Doesn??t Allow Me To Deal With Beakers.???

Less Than Jake are freakin sweet dudes. One time JR made me food at his house. It was good too. I think he made egg sandwiches. His brother Chuck is the man too. I think he might have helped with the sandwiches. Since I'll be in Hartford for a few days this week, I want to try to hang out with those guys if they're around. Less Than Jake is writing their new record right now. I'm sure it'll be awesome. I think "the science of selling yourself short" might be the best LTJ song ever...there's a whole lot to pick from though. They have at least 8 of my top 100 songs of all time. They are the man. You should get their DVD "the people's history of less than jake". Its really funny.
