plain text format for my email version is that many HTML format emails are
blocked by spam-blocking software. According to many internet email marketers, as
much as 75% of the HTML emails sent are being flagged as spam. Many emails never
get past the spam blocking software on the email servers and even more end up in
the Spam folder in the users email program.

6 Steps To A Successful Online Marketing Campaign

Have you ever gone online to purchase something and your Google search has led
you to a web page that totally confuses you?You have no idea what they're selling
or trying to convey on the web page. There's no rhyme or reason to the web page
and you wonder how Google ever thought this was relevant content. Probably the
web page has certain keywords sprinkled throughout the content so Google matched
the content with your keyword search. You were looking to purchase something and
you were led to a page full of useless content.

When creating an online marketing campaign, there are 6 important steps that you
need to follow so you can make sure only targeted customers will end up at your
web page. This is especially important if your using pay-per-click advertising to
drive customers to your website.

Step 1 - What is your goal or desired outcome for the campaign?

Some online marketing campaigns are designed to sell products. Some campaigns are
designed to collect targeted contact information. You need to decide exactly what
you're trying to accomplish with your campaign. Create very specific goals for
your campaign and focus only on one outcome. If you want to collect contact
information, then design the campaign to collect information. Don't try to
collect targeted contact information and sell them products in the same sales
letter. Create a separate campaign for each desired outcome.

Step 2 - Keyword Selection

Since the internet now revolves around keywords, you need to select the most
popular keywords related to your product or service and use them extensively in
your campaign. Use Yahoo! Search Marketing (overture.com) or Word Tracker to
select your keywords. Make sure the keywords you're using are popular enough for
your campaign. If your keywords don't have a lot of hits per day then your
chances of success are minimal. Look for keywords with over 3000 searches per day.

Step 3 - Create a landing page for your campaign

A landing page is a separate page on your website that contains specific
information about your campaign. The landing page should look similar to your
website but not have any links or navigation bars. Let them have only one option
on the landing page, purchase your product (if that's your desired outcome) or
gather their contact information when they sign up for your newsletter or free
report. An example of a landing page is www.valiss.com/specials.

Step 4 - Landing page headline

You must have a strong headline on your sales letter that immediately captures
the reader's attention. The headline will make or break your campaign. The
headline should contain your keywords and grab their attention by talking about
the readers problems, their pain, or something else related to them. The reader
will be asking "what's in it for me and how will this help me solve my problem?"
as they read the headline.

Step 5 - The sales letter

You can create either a short or long sales letter for your landing page. There's
no rule of thumb when to use a short vs. long sales letter. The key is to write
your content with your keywords sprinkled throughout. Remember, the reader
searched Google looking for some information about those keywords so they're
expecting to see them in your content. Also, Google is expecting to see those
keywords in your content to consider it relevant content.

Step 6 - Test, test, test

The key to a successful online marketing campaign is to test, evaluate your
results, adjust your campaign and test again. Create parallel campaigns and
compare the results. Try two landing pages, one with a short sales letter and the
other with a long sales letter. Start your marketing with a small test group and
keep testing until you're confident that you have the best combination of
keywords, headlines and content and then launch the campaign to the masses.
