Phase I Trial With Walter Reed Army Medical Center Will Measure Immune Responses as Well as Safety

The compound, AE37, is designed to stimulate an immune response against the tumor-causing gene HER-2/neu, which occurs in a significant percentage of patients with breast cancer as well as other cancers. A robust immune response against HER-2/neu has the potential to destroy tumor cells even at sites in the body distant from the primary tumor.

Press Release: Surge in Consumer Spending Boosts Wal-Mart Mexico

Biotech Holdings Ltd., a Canadian-based pharmaceutical manufacturer, announced Wednesday that the company had received its second order from Wal-Mart de Mexico SA for its diabetic drug, Sucanon.

According to Robert B. Rieveley, Biotech Holdings President, the order announced today marks the 137th Wal-Mart store in Mexico that now stocks the company's diabetic drug.

Rieveley noted that drugstore chains Farmacia Benavides, Nutrimania and Farmacia Paris also buy Biotech Holdings' diabetic drug. Rieveley said that his company now served over 600 stores in Mexico.
