October 28, 2007 LinorStore.com News
Since I can’t bead because of my broken hand, it seems I’m more inspired to write. I hope you enjoy these news tidbits.
Today in history: Oct. 28, 1886: The Statue of Liberty, a gift from the French, was dedicated. Oct. 28, 1926: Benito Mussolini takes control in Italy. Oct. 28, 1955: Bill Gates is born. Oct. 28, 1967: Julia Roberts is born in GA.
Halloween Safety: Many cities have designated 3-7 p.m. as Trick or Treat hours. Here are some tips: • Parents should accompany children. • Children should wear light clothing or have reflectors. • Children should be able to see through their masks.
• Parents should look through candy before giving it in moderation to children. • Adult Parties: No drinking and driving.
My work is having a party on Oct. 30 so parents can share Halloween with their families. We are encouraged to dress up and everyone brings something to share. A band rehearses and copywriters change lyrics and we all have a lot of laughs.
Sponsor News: You can order Katie’s Old Fashioned Chocolates online, by snail mail or on the phone. Best sellers are Caramel Pecan Patties and Toffee Nut Clusters. Katie’s Assortment is a great hostess gift idea for any occasion. Email linor06@comcast.net
to order yours today. Time Change: Next weekend, many Americans, including IL, change their clocks back on hour. Good: We gain an hour of sleep. Not-so-good: It’s dark when we leave for work and dark when we get home from work.
The time change messes with my system for a few weeks. Our cats seem to be on the new time and want us to wake up earlier. It’s important to make up the time in sleep to adapt. Often, we don’t get enough sleep which affects our health, driving and mood.
Tips to sleep better: • Avoid naps • Go to sleep at the same time • Avoid caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, food and exercise 2-3 hours before bedtime. Source:
USA Weekend
Jewelry Gifts Home Show I’m thinking about having a hand crafted beaded Jewelry Home Show the weekend before Thanksgiving, the weekend of Nov. 17-18 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Email me at linor06@comcast.net to tell me which day is better for you. Ask a friend, too. Most jewelry will be on sale, from 10-15% off.
The Forbes Richest Celebrities on TV List Oprah Winfrey is at the top of the list earning $260 million. Jerry Seinfeld is #2 at $60 million, followed by Simon Crowell of “American Idol” at $45 million. Barbara Walters is at $12 million? What’s a million between friends?
My millions come from the unconditional love I receive from my husband and furry cats. And from dear friends who share laughter, joys and chocolate with me.
Happy Halloween!
