Dear Subscriber,

Living Beyond your Means? I saw this article on Yahoo! news and it indicates
that people are saving less and taking on more debt. This negative situation is
harmful in a slow economy where costs are rising and jobs are being cut.

If the warning signs apply, it s time to evaluate your long-term financial
plan. Here are 5 warning signs:
1. Your credit score is below 600. You can get a copy of the reports from
TransUnion, Equifax and Experian.
2. You are savings less than 5% and/or dipping into savings. Beginning at age
30, if you save 10% of $100,000 salary or $10,000 each year, by age 65 that
money would grow to $900,000.
3. Your credit card balances are rising. Pay more than the minimum payment,
especially on high interest rate credit cards.
Government Rebate Checks
Most people are not spending the money on luxury items as the government
intended. Since the costs of food and energy costs are rising, people are
paying off bills, donating funds to charities and keeping some for emergency
purposes.

Joseph LaVorgna, chief U.S. economist at Deutsche Bank, thinks at least half
the rebate money may go toward energy costs alone. "It's not going to give you
the bang for the buck as originally envisioned," he said. "The odds of it
having a longer-lasting impact on the economy are less. ... People were not
planning to use so much of it on energy and food."
I haven't written for some time.

We lost a member of our family, our beloved Nova, who has been very ill for
several months with a stomach or intestinal disorder. I spent a lot of time
buying special foods, cleaning up accidents, going to the vet and caring for
him. After about 4 weeks, I figured out that it hurt him to go to the bathroom
and didn't want to see him suffer any longer.

Nova came to us about 2 years ago when his owner couldn't take him to his new
home. He was about 10-12 at the time. Nova would have been put down if we
didn't take him. He was a lean, fearless orange cat who didn't take any bull
Your veggies don't like to be naked. And what couture do they prefer? Try a
little healthful-fat finery.

A bit of unsaturated fat can help your body better absorb the fat-soluble
nutrients in your vegetables. Here are three different looks to try:
1. Skip the fat-free ranch dressing. Instead, toss your greens with an
olive-oil-based dressing like balsamic vinaigrette.
2. Make your fat crunchy. Season peppers, corn, carrots, or squash with salt,

Dear Subscriber,

Leap Year
In case you haven't heard by now, today is Leap Year Day. This means there is
an extra day in February.

In the Gregorian calendar, the calendar used by most modern countries, the
following three criteria determine which years will be leap years:
1. Every year that is divisible by four is a leap year;
2. of those years, if it can be divided by 100, it is NOT a leap year, unless
3. the year is divisible by 400. Then it is a leap year.

In the Julian calendar introduced by Julius Caesar in 46 BC and patterned after
the Roman calendar there was only one rule: any year divisible by four would be
a leap year. This calendar was used before the Gregorian calendar was adopted.
Tea: The Elixir of Life Says Dr. Mao Tea is becoming a more popular drink in
the U.S. Many flavors are quite tasty, low-calorie and have tons of
antioxidants. Green tea now comes in decaf, which I enjoy; however, my favorite
tea today is Tension Tamer by Celestial Seasonings.

According to Yahoo! News, It is no wonder that tea is the beverage most
commonly enjoyed by centenarians around the world. Tea is full of powerful
antioxidants that improve concentration, gently boost energy, and make people
happier. The free radical-inhibiting property of tea is more potent than that
of vitamin E, and tea is a proven preventive and treatment for atherosclerosis
(hardening of the arteries). The polyphenols in tea, especially the catechins,
are powerful antioxidants that help ward off diabetes and cancer.

To get the most health from your tea, brew it fresh from tea bags or loose
leaves and herbs, as instant and bottled teas contain less active compounds.
Lunar Eclipse Wednesday Night View
The last total lunar eclipse until 2010 occurs Wednesday night, with cameo
is blocked from the sun's rays that normally illuminate it. During an eclipse,
