Next June Quark Expeditions will have a 25-day 4000-mile voyage through the
rarely explored Northeast Passage. You start in Anchorage, join an icebreaker
ship in Anadyr, Russia, then travel along the Chukotka Peninsula to Wrangel
Island, New Siberian Islands, the most northerly islands of Eurasia, and Franz
Josef Land, and disembark in Murmansk. MOVIE ABOUT NESSIE -- The story of the Loch Ness Monster is featured in The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep, due for release December 25th. Loch Ness is part of the Great Glen, also known as Glen Albyn or Glen More, 750-820 feet deep in places. There are small ship cruises that go there. MERGER OF THE SELF-DRIVES -- Crown Blue Line, Connoisseur and Emerald Star are branding themselves together under the name Le Boat to offer self-drive European boating vacations from more than 40 departure bases in Europe. Le Boat's self-drive vessels are easy to maneuver, no license is required and you can use them to explore canals in France, England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Italy and Holland. LINDBLAD EXPEDITIONS -- Lindblad bought a polar expedition vessel that will hold 150 guests and will set sail in the summer of 2008. The ship, the Lyngen, purchased from Norwegian Coastal Voyages (Hurtigruten), will be named National Geographic Explorer. The vessel will go to Greenland, Iceland, the Arctic, then down the east coast of the U.S. and the west coast of South America to Antarctica.MUSIC ON THE DEUTSCHLAND -- Deilmann’s flagship will have the award-winning W?rttemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn aboard for a 14-day “Music Gala at Sea” cruise, departing Hamburg, Germany Sept. 18, 2008 with stops in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Portugal, Monaco and Spain. Artists featured: soprano Carolyn Sampson, pianist Erno Feher and guitarist Jose Maria Gallardo. With five couples as a group, get a 10% discount. TALK ABOUT BIG -- Two huge new ships with capacity for 5.400 passengers each are scheduled to be delivered in 2009 and 2010 for Royal Caribbean Cruises. CRUISES OF RIVERS IN PORTUGAL & SPAIN -- Amadeus Waterways has a new itinerary for 2008 aboard the Amadouro. The cruise explores the Douro River Valley, from Porto, Portugal, to the Tr?s-os-Montes Region, then enters Spain and visits Salamanca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located at the center of the Castilla y Le?n Region, returning to Portugal to the ancient city of Lamego.

West itineraries in 2008.Guests will receive hands-on instruction on equipment
