Happy New Year to everyone. I have some exciting news to tell you.  I started a
new chat group.  The castle is wonderful and full of information, freebies,
recipes, advice, and prayers.  But what it lacks is open communication between
all of us.  So I decided to open a chat group.  For now it is small but it will
grow.  There is no moderation but you must subscribe in order to post.  I am

The first week of December is ending, Christmas is another week closer and most
are another week further along with their shopping and mailing of cards . . .
except me!!!  I just know I m going to be shopping in the middle of the night
on December 24, you watch.  I know me, have known me for over forty years now,
and I know how I am.

Back in the day (a phrase I heartily dislike, so I have to use it!), when the
kids were small, I used to be done shopping for gifts for everyone, kids
included, by the end of October at the latest, usually the end of August.  As
the kids have gotten older and harder to shop for, shopping has been put off
more and more and more.

Christmas can be the warmest and happiest season of the year for many people,
even though time always seems at a premium. The holidays are also when creating
decorations and presents is most fun and fulfilling and appreciated by those
receiving the lovingly made gifts. These crafts are ones that come from the
heart. Sometimes they become heirlooms to be passed from one generation to the
next.

Crafting is a wonderful way to escape crowded shopping malls and the mad race
to find that "perfect" gift. It can become an excellent teaching tool for your
children. That special quality time that you look for to bond closer to your
children can be used during crafting time.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!  We hope you are all having a great holiday this
weekend.  Whether you re celebrating with just your immediate family or have a
huge extended family gathering for a feast, it s a time to remember all we have

As we gather at this special time of year to give thanks for our blessings, we
hope you have special friends and family gathered around you to help you
celebrate and that you have had time to decorate or the children brought some
decorations home from school.  It is a wonderful time of year.  The sounds, the
smells, the warmth of families, the laughter of those blessed with life.  Even
if you buy your feast from somewhere precooked (who, me?), just warming it up
fills the house with those special holiday scents.  If you have younger ones

Ancient Origins

Halloween's origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain
