HAN University: Master of International Business programme

Just recently, the degree programme Master of International Business (MIB) received accreditation by the FIBAA, the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation. This recognition now implies that HAN University of Applied Sciences, which offers the MIB, can now award an internationally recognised Masters degree to students who have successfully completed the programme.

The MIB is designed for individuals wanting to pursue a career in international business. The entire programme is taught entirely in English and consists of a mixture of theory and practice, both of which are prerequisites for a successful career in international business.   • England: Tougher top grades plan for A-level

A-Levels could be tougher under a review of the exam, it has been revealed. Pupils could introduced to an A* grade after high numbers received A grades at A-level last year. Universities complained that they could no longer distinguish between the best applicants and those who were "merely well drilled". It was reported that there would be major changes to A-levels by 2008.

Those changes could also include replacing some questions which required highly-structured answers with more open-ended essay-style questions.  Dr Ken Boston, chief executive of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), told the paper: "We are in a position to give universities far more information if they want it. Although an A is between 80 and 100%, we can provide more information within the stretch-and-challenge agenda.

  • CHN University students train South Africans

Students from the Retail Business School in Leeuwarden (part of CHN University of Professional Education) have won a national competition with a project to help budding entrepreneurs in South Africa.Since 2004, they have been working with black entrepreneurs in Nemato township to provide marketing, communication and accountancy training.
