Subject: Hearts and Humor - I Just Want To Hold You - May13, 2006

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mom's out there.

My mom lives in Nova Scotia. I won't get to see her

tomorrow, but I will be talking to her. I love my mom.

For Mother's Day, I wrote a little story for my wonderful

wife. Ginny is everything to me. Everytime I look at her,

I just want to pull her into my arms. This urge was the

basis for today's story. I hope you enjoy it.

Again, HAPPY MOTHER's DAY to all the moms on the list.

Tomorrow is your day to be pampered.

I Just Want to Hold You

The sound of chirping birds rouses me from sleep.

I open my eyes and see sunlight streaming into our bedroom

through the half opened blinds. I roll to my right and look

at my wife Ginny.

    She's so beautiful.

I think back to the day we first met. It was the day

Ginny captured my heart. She stepped through the arrival

gate at the airport and into my arms. I held her for the first

time and knew, one day she'd be my wife.

She sleeps as I continue to stare. Unable to restrain

myself, I slide across the bed. Still sleeping, she instinctively

rolls to her side, allowing me to snuggle against her back.

My right arm slips under her pillow. My left stretches over her

side and cups her to me.

    I hold her.

I place my head next to hers, smelling her hair. My left

hand, still cupping her, rises and falls with each breath she

takes. My eyes close, as a sigh escapes me. Holding her, I feel

more warmth, comfort and completeness than I have ever felt

before.

We hold each other every night, as we sleep. In the mornings,

as I leave for work, we hold each other and say, "I love you!"

I arrive home from work. She's always there to greet me with a smile.

    We hold.

Later in the evening, we sit side-by-side.

    We hold

I pull Ginny tight to me - her skin smooth against mine.

Another sigh escapes me. The love I feel for Ginny makes me melt

into her. Our bodies become one.

Every day, hour, minute and second I want to hold her. I'm

not complete without her. I thought I knew what love was, but

I was wrong.

    I snuggle tight to her.

    This is love.

Love is holding and never wanting to let go.

Ginny, I just want to hold you.

From my good friend and former neighbor in Nova Scotia:

Hi Michael,

I remember your lovely bathroom, the green formica - just

the colour I would have chosen - and I recall you telling

Harry and me the story of the glue and of your despair. But

I do not recall the lesson from Vanessa - what  a lovely

story. Thank you.

Anne

From one of my most avid fans:

Oh, Mike, after half an hour I am STILL laughing out loud at

the mental image of you stomping around the new bathroom with

glue all over your Christmas slippers!   This story is hilarious,

but it teaches a valuable lesson, too.  I can even imagine a

comedian like Robin Williams or Steve Martin acting out that

scene in a movie.  It would have the audience in stitches!

I certainly hope you got another pair of slippers after that

mishap! Thanks for the hearty chuckles,

Sandi
