How Xtreme Magic got started and where it will be going in the future. My name is Wes Collins and I am a professional firefighter for the City of Cleveland Tn. for eight years and I work 24hours and then I am off for 48 hours needless to say I have a lot of time on my hands. One day while I was doing fire prevention at an elementary school I noticed it was hard to keep the attention of the youngsters. I had dabbled in the art of magic as a hobby and I thought to myself that magic would be a great way to get kids interested in what we were saying. So I started to practice a lot at work and at home I really got good at it and notice the kids starting to enjoy magic and wanting to learn it as well. But most of the kids could not afford the high prices and I enjoy magic so much and it keeps my mind off of the bad things I see in my job like people suffering and losing their homes or even worse their loved ones. So I really dove into it and decided to open up a shop so everyone could afford and enjoy something that has helped me in my own trying times it can help to heal an unhealthy mind and heart to see smiles on peoples faces when you take them to a new world even if it is just for a moment. I usually have a hard time expressing my feelings but when I do magic it takes me to a whole new world and I can be free again. So I want everyone to be able to feel what I experience when I am in my own world. You to can take magic to a whole new level hence that is where I got the name Xtreme Magic because a person has to believe when he is doing the magic that it is real and become almost magical himself and take people where they never been before. That is what magic is about not doing a trick but taking everyone on a journey to the other side of the mirror. When I do an effect I give it all I can give to the point I believe the magic that I am doing is real and I begin to believe in it myself. That's when you have reached the point of Xtreme Magic. That's when you become an Xtreme Magician when it is not about the trick but when it is about wanting to take you and your audience closer to the unreal and amazing and twisted world of an Xtreme Magician. I hope the future holds strong for the shop but that will be the decision of my brothers and sister of the Brotherhood of Xtreme Magic. One thing I can say that I am not out to make a lot of money from my shop because I make a great living being a firefighter but the only thing I want to accomplish is to see the young magicians stop worrying about knowing tricks but instead take a few tricks and taking them further than they have been done before. Daydreams are a wonderful thing and are wasted when you get a chance to take your favorite music or meditation and sit in a dark room and daydream of being that Xtreme Magician and then act on it because all things are possible if you are willing to take it that extra step. Thanks for letting me in your head for the moment and I hope that you take it to heart and remember you to can be an Xtreme Magician. I would also like to feature other magicians, their stories and where they perform. I will write your story and send it to you for proofing then I will publish it in this newsletter. Wes Collins
