Ninth Edition, August, 2007 New Email Newsletter Subscription Contest! My gift basket giveaway contest for subscribers to my email newsletter ended on June 30, 2007, mainly because the cost to mail the baskets was so high. I mulled over ideas on how to award prizes where most of the money I spent went directly to the prizewinner versus to packaging and mailing. The cheapest form of mailing is media mail, which means book prizes. So, my new email newsletter subscriber contest will award prizes of two books?an autographed copy of A REAL BASKET CASE and a book by another mystery author of my choice. And, there?s an interesting feature to these give-away copies of A REAL BASKET CASE that makes them a collector?s item! Upcoming Appearances Mark your calendars! On Reviewed By Liz I was the featured author on July 21st for the Summer Mystery Reading Challenge. The goal of the challenge is for participants to read six mysteries by authors whose works they haven?t read before between June 1st and August 31st. And there are prizes, so sign up! Also, I?m working with some bloggers and ezines on future interviews, reviews, and articles, and I should have information for you in my September newsletter about those. In print media, the August 9th edition of the ?Your Hub? section of the Colorado Springs Gazette newspaper contained an entry from my not-so-frequent blog there. You can see my entry about how authors check their library numbers by looking under ?More Blog Entries? for mine. On Friday, August 24th, the Summit Daily News in Colorado ski country will include an artist profile of me. Look for the interview in the A&E section. Also on Friday, August 24th, I will be interviewed by Lillian Cauldwell on Internet Voices Radio . You can listen to the interview live, from about 2:05 ? 2:35 PM MST or access the recording after the fact and listen to it later. We have some terrific prizes, including critiques by agents and editors. It should also be great fun for audience members, and I can tell you (since I worked with the caterer) that there will be lots of yummy desserts, too. It?s Saturday, August 25th, from 6:30 ? 9:30 PM.
