Subject: 7 Seas Cruise News - August30, 2006

Greetings Cruise Fans,

This newsletter arrives to you from the eye of
Tropical Storm Earnesto who is currently teasing
us here in South Florida. Rain. Wind. Nothing to
get very excited about. I, on the other hand, am
very excited! I have the day off-with pay. My
employer, like most employers down here, just don'
t want to take any chances with the well being of
their people. I'm not complaining. I even brought
work home. It's nice to work in your pjs for a
change.

Pat and I are going to be out of touch from Labor
Day through Thursday, Sept. 7. We're sailing on
Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas. It's been
years since we took a short Bahamas cruise, so
this will give us the opportunity to check it out
for all of you. Watch for a review as soon as we
return.

If you'd like to take advantage of one of these
amazing bargains like we are, give Pat a call. He
can steer you toward some extraordinary prices.
You'll visit new ports- or go back to old
favorites. You can wander down to Belize, be
among the first to call at Turks and Caicos, or
just stroll around Nassau or Key West, taking in
the local color. Best of all, you' ll enjoy
excellent cruise food, be cared for graciously,
and enjoy a beautiful, ever-changing tropical
view from your stateroom window.  (Okay, it's
even cheaper if you opt for an inside cabin, but
for just a few dollars more you can see those
palms swaying and look out onto that smooth blue
sea.) If you'd like to know just how much you can
save by sailing this fall, give Pat a call at 1-
866-424-1090 toll-free. Shop around at www.

discounted price!

And now, a bit of cruise news...

Carnival Corporation has commented on the
potential impact of Alaska's Ballot Initiative 2
which has been approved by the state's voters and
is expected to be implemented in 2007.  Although
still subject to final certification by the state,
the new taxes include a $50 per passenger head
tax which will increase the government taxes and
fees paid by passengers embarking on Alaskan
cruises.  At this time, the company cannot
estimate the impact these additional passenger
taxes may have on its Alaskan cruise business. In
addition to the head tax, the initiative includes
a gaming tax on any gambling conducted within
state waters as well as a state corporate income
tax for cruise lines operating ships in Alaska.
Carnival estimates that the gaming and income
taxes may reduce 2007 earnings per share by
approximately $0.03. The initiative also calls
for cruise lines to reveal profits on shore
excursions and any advertising revenues earned
from shoreside businesses.  Carnival Corporation
and related brands currently carry approximately
560,000 passengers annually in Alaska aboard 16
cruise ships - eight from Holland America Line,
seven from Princess Cruises and one from Carnival
Cruise Lines.  "We are disappointed that the
Ballot Initiative 2 has passed as we believe this
will inhibit the future growth and expansion of
Alaska's tourism business," said Micky Arison,
Carnival Corporation chairman and CEO.  "The
estimates of the impact of these taxes are being
made prior to our finalizing deployment, legal
and other business decisions that will need to be
considered as a result of this initiative," he
added.

Carnival Cruise Lines and Masterfoods USA, one of
America's leading snack food manufacturers, have
teamed up for a unique Halloween promotion where
guests sailing aboard the "Fun Ships" can
participate in costume contests, enjoy scary
movies and "ghost stories" and, of course, go
trick or treating for a seemingly endless array
of Halloween goodies.  The new "Frightfully Fun"
promotion will be held on every "Fun Ship" cruise
departing between October 9-31, 2006.
Highlighting the festivities will be a costume
contest and parade where "Fun Ship" guests can
dress up in their favorite costume and compete
for a variety of prizes, including "M&M'S"
Character plush toys. Crew members throughout the
fleet will be dressed in costume, as well, and
guests can have their photo taken with their
favorite "M&M'S" Character. Kids aged one to 14
will be invited go trick or treating through the
ships' various public lounges and areas, stocking
up on a variety of delicious Masterfoods USA Fun
Size candies, including "M&M'S" Milk Chocolate, "
M&M'S" Peanut, SNICKERS and SKITTLES.

Good to know: As the 2006 Atlantic Hurricane
Season stretches on into the peak months, expect
more and more suppliers to offer hurricane
cancellation policies. The latest additions to
the ever-growing list of companies include Disney
Destinations and the Walt Disney Travel Co. In
the event a hurricane warning is issued by the
National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area or
for the guest's place of residence within seven
days of the scheduled arrival date, the guest can
reschedule or cancel the Disney vacation package
without any fees. The policy also applies to most
WDW Resort room-only reservations booked directly
with Disney as well as reservations at Disney's
Vero Beach Resort in Vero Beach, Fla., or Disney'
s Hilton Head Resort in Hilton Head, S.C., if a
hurricane warning is issued for those
destinations. Guests who purchased packages that
include products or services provided by airlines,
hotels, car rental agencies or vacation insurance
companies will continue to be responsible for any
non-refundable payments plus cancellation and
change fees assessed by the suppliers.

"Fiesta Latina" and "Far From Over: the 80s" -
two lavish revues featuring fast-paced musical
numbers and elaborate costumes and sets - will be
featured on Carnival Cruise Lines' "Fun Ship"
Fascination following a scheduled dry dock in
September. The new shows will be among the varied
entertainment options available on the 2,052-
passenger SuperLiner, which operates year-round
three- and four-day cruises from Miami. Making
its Carnival debut is "Fiesta Latina," which like
the name implies, pays homage to the pulsating
Latin and Caribbean rhythms of these two musical
genres. The show takes viewers on a journey
through various musical hotspots, opening with a
visit to a sultry Havana nightclub with an
elaborate number featuring varied versions of the
mambo. Next, it's on to Jamaica where colorfully
clad singers and dancers perform a host of Latin
and reggae numbers. The last stop is Brazil
featuring a dramatic backdrop resembling the
Amazonian jungle, followed by a show-stopping
finale.

The second show, "Far From Over: the 80s"
celebrates the era of "big hair," leg warmers and,
of course, unforgettable music. Featuring a set
of oversized icons of the decade, the show kicks
off with a captivating laser display, and
includes tributes to the music of the 80s. To
accommodate the extensive technical capabilities
of these two new shows, the Fascination's 1,300-
seat Palace Lounge will be completely overhauled
and feature a new revolving turntable, orchestra
pit and a recessed speaker system enhancing the
room's already impressive sound quality and
overall visibility. New stage lighting and a
computerized audio/ visual communications network
will be added, as well. The 70,000-ton
Fascination sails year-round from Miami on three-
and four-day cruises. On this route, three-day
cruises depart Fridays and overnight in Nassau
while four-day voyages depart Mondays and stop at
Key West and Cozumel.

That's it from the eye of Earnesto-which is not
as exciting as it sounds. Pat's waiting for your
call and I better get going on some of my "
homework." Take care. Be safe wherever you are.
And until the next edition, smooth sailing!

Teri
